Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer, with the ales, guinness and a classic Corona Extra named as highlights, and one drinker calling the ale among the best they have had anywhere. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly and pleasantly helpful even when busy, and drinks and orders that arrive quickly during busy evenings and a world cup match. Food is more mixed: several call it hot, fresh and tasty, while others find it inadequate, and one describes a large fish and chips meal deal as overcooked, brown and short on fish. Another reviewer says an app drinks order never went through, a promised refund never arrived, and the wait ran to the bar. One reviewer reports a staff member swearing at them and insulting them over a request for crisps after the bell. The upstairs sun terrace and a small back garden also get mentions. Door staff wishing that customer a good night and saying see you tomorrow is how that account ends.

“Ordered a couple of drinks using their app, it was pretty busy but I waited, and waited and waited. Finally went to the bar after about 40 mins to be told that the order hadn’t gone through and I had been refunded. Like an idiot I didn’t check my account there and then but lo and behold I hadn’t been refunded after all. Not a fortune but Wetherspoons you have lost my fairly regular custom going forward”

“Wonderful night in Boldmere, until the wife asked me to see if we could buy a packet of crisps to takeaway after the bell had been rang, we both thought this would be okay as we had just seen one of the male workers give a girl in front of us an alcoholic drink, but when I asked the same member of staff, he said the bar was closed, I said I had cash if they could process the sale the next day, he then told me to f-off and called me a k-head. All the other bar staff and door management could not believe what he said, we were all laughing at the over-reaction. Is this his way of saying he wants a new job? By all the other staff responses, I think he needs to leave or at least learn some manners! I left and finished my drink quickly, he purposely stomped over to grab the glass and told us to get out, then asked if I wanted to be barred...like we'd moved on from the situation but he obviously wanted to continue his tirade...door management asked us to leave, wished us a good night and said see you tomorrow...we liked them!!”

“If all pubs offered this selection at this price they’d all be full. Unfortunately weatherspoons food might be inexpensive but it’s inadequate too. Staff busy but pleasantly helpful at busy times.”

“For a Wetherspoons pub, this place was one of the better ones. While quiet busy, and noisy, with a world cup match being shown during our visit, we were still able to find a table, and service was quick. We ordered food and drinks, which arrived promptly, and were above the usual expectation of a Wetherspoons pub. In particular, the ale I had was among the best beers I have drank anywhere, and I've drank more than my fair share of ales! The staff were polite and friendly, despite the added demands of such a busy time.”

“Above average 'spoons with decent food and cheap booze... Food was a little slow to arrive but the drinks arrived very quickly. Nice space outside upstairs too for good weather”
