About The Little Shop Cafe

On Broadstone Hall Road South in Stockport, The Little Shop Cafe is a breakfast-focused cafe that takes walk-ins only. A board behind the counter lets customers specify exactly how they want their eggs cooked, alongside recurring items like sausage butties and a spam bap. Vegetarian sausages are also on the menu, which runs to an extensive range of meals, snacks and treats. Food is cooked fresh to order, so dishes can take a while to arrive. The cafe opens at 7am, serving early birds and workers, and operates Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays, with daytime hours only. Wifi is available for those settling in. Outdoor seating extends the space for those who want to eat outside, and dogs are welcome to join. High chairs are available for families with young children. Customers can sit in or order for takeaway.

Customer Review Summary

The recurring caveat is change since the cafe changed hands. Two reviewers say it has gone expensive and the food is no longer the best, and a long-time customer says food takes a while to come out now that it is quieter. Another describes calling twice with no answer, then waiting a long while for a Big One breakfast that arrived without the poached eggs requested, wrapped in foil on the side. Others accept the slower pace as proof everything is cooked fresh.

“This place has been here for years and all that time it has remained as a good quality, great value cafe. Today we came across the new owners and was served by the cheeky Sharron. The cafe does sit in and takeaway, has a wide selection of meals, snacks and treats. The sit in area has had a a new lock of paint, new tables and chairs and some local artwork on the walls, bringing a bright a bright clean feel to the place. Food was good, coffee was hot and on our visit today, that was needed as the doors were open and it was a bit chilly. Local small businesses need locals to support them, so pop in, say hi and have a brew and a chat. Well worth a visit.”

“The 3 stars is not how this place used to be , 1 year ago I would of give it six , I’ve been going to this cafe for the last thirty years, its gone from a family run business employing at least ten family members amazing. Always said this place was a gold mine of a business for many years , people queuing up , two vans constantly delivering orders , banquets and business orders always ran smooth , got you food quickly no matter how busy . Food still good not as busy takes a while for food to come . What a shame a family run business can end up like this .”

“I'm so glad I stopped here on a whim. The hoagie rolls are so soft. Great food, will swing by again.”
