About Maries Sandwich Bar and Cafe

Breakfast barms are the backbone at Maries Sandwich Bar and Cafe, a cafe and sandwich shop on Broadstone Rd in Stockport. Breakfast meats carry the menu, with a sausage and egg barm with brown sauce among the orders cooked fresh once they are placed. The owners work the business themselves, covering both the counter and the kitchen. There are no reservations, so customers order at the counter on arrival, and the shop fills up at peak times, when a wait can build. Regulars can be given a number to phone their order through in advance and collect it. Seating outside gives customers the option of eating in the open air, and high chairs make it workable for families with young children. Trade comes from people passing through the area as well as those living nearby. The doors open Monday to Friday during the daytime, with no weekend service.

Customer Review Summary

The breakfast barms anchor most visits, with one diner singling out a sausage and egg barm with brown sauce and another calling the breakfast barm delicious and reasonably priced. Close behind is the warmth of the welcome, repeatedly credited to the owners, who reviewers say clearly love what they do and greet regulars and passing visitors with a smile. Food comes in for consistent praise as fresh, cooked to order and piping hot, and several mention the place being spotless and tidy. One reviewer urges others to try the strawberry milkshake, and several say they return whenever they are in the area. A frequent note is that orders are made to order rather than rushed, and one customer who waited during a busy spell describes receiving apologies and being offered a phone number to ring ahead next time. Another thanks the cafe for helping raise money for a charity.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
