  “I love coming here as apart of my visit as I need to refuel when I have walked around Etherow Country Parks ground. They have a nice selection of food, snacks and drinks. Staff are pleasant, welcoming and sometimes comical. Welcomes all variety of people and also dogs.”

  “This little cafe at the corner of the Lake with indoor and outdoor seating has got all the facilities needed to provide for just a light snack or a main meal, with a great selection of ice creams in cones. One of the best details within this cafe is the staff who are always willing and very helpful when working. There are toilet facilities with easy access for wheelchairs via the ramp. It is also possible to buy duck food for the birds on the Lake which is so much better than giving them bread.”

  “An informal cafe in the Etherow Country Park. Meals are simple but tasty. Suitable both for hungry walkers and lunch with friends. Hot drinks, cold drinks (from the fridge) and a choice of ice cream are all available, as are sandwiches (prepacked or made to order) Indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs catered for too. No toilets in the cafe but public toilets (regularly cleaned) are close by outside. There are limited GF options but the soup or jacket potatoes (with a various fillings) are usually available. GF cake is limited to a prepacked cupcake. I usually have the blueberry one.”

  “I went to Pure Coffee on a Sunday. Now listen, I like people. I support people. I am people. But this place was not a café. This was a gathering. A congregation. A population study. I walked in and immediately thought, Whoa, you all need to stop breathing my air. The queue was not a queue. It was a migration route. I am pretty sure someone at the back had packed supplies and said goodbye to their family. And the crowd. Lovely people, no issue at all, but I did feel like I had accidentally walked onto the casting call for a remake of Cocoon. If anyone had started glowing, I would not have questioned it. Now, prices. They were okay, but let us talk about the maths. Coffee, cake, two bottles of pop. Twelve quid. At that point I am looking at the pop thinking, What are you, vintage. Were you blessed by monks. Did you come from a rare underground spring guarded by badgers. Because that bottle was carrying some serious financial responsibility. But here is the thing. Once you actually get a seat, which feels like winning a minor Olympic event, the place is pleasant. Nice atmosphere, warm, cosy, and you can finally breathe again and reconnect with your lungs. And the staff. Absolute heroes. They were moving like a tactical unit. No panic, no drama, just darting about on missions. Latte secure. Cake deployed. Customer morale stabilised. Give them a pay rise. Or at least a medal. Or both. Outside is where the place really wins. You have the park, the water, the walk. Proper nice spot for a stroll afterwards. Makes the whole trip feel like an afternoon out rather than just a caffeine survival exercise. Car park was reasonably priced but still felt like a cheeky extra. Like the place quietly saying, oh, and one more thing. Overall Busy, very busy, borderline oxygen crisis. Prices fairish, with a suspiciously ambitious pop. Staff brilliant. Location lovely. If you time it right, it is a great little stop. If you go at peak Sunday, bring patience, deep breathing, and maybe a small camping chair. Would I go back. Yes. Next time I am bringing my own air.”

  “Lovely café supporting employees with learning difficulties. Part of a local charity. Their food is lovely and you can get a lovely coffee or hot chocolate with a range of cakes made at their local facility. What better than a walk round a lake feeding the birds, finishing off with a sweet treat. Go on you know you want to!”

  “The park has mixed activities: boating, model boats, large duck ponds and nature walks past the ponds. The cafe employs workers with special needs and the food is prepared well and not too expensive. Dog friendly.”

  “I have Visited Etherow County Park and Cafe with a close friend, we walked around and did some sightseeing and taking in the breathtaking views, Summer Sun and fresh air. Its a lovely place to walk, relax and escape from the world. The cafe was a lovely place as well. With good views, great value for money on food and drinks. Definitely would visit again.”

  “What a lovely little café! The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is great, and contrary to other reviews, I would say incredibly reasonably priced. There were two of us who had lunch, we both had hot food and a drink each, and it totalled just over £12. Not too bad! The café is both dog and children friendly, and is run by Pure Innovations, a charity providing help to members of the local community, "helping them to create fulfilled lives with a sense of purpose and belonging". Can't really fault the place, and great views over the lake. Lovely afternoon out!”
