About Village Cafe
Breakfast drives the kitchen at Village Cafe, a cafe on Compstall Rd in Stockport where one woman frequently runs the counter and the stove single-handedly, cooking each order as it is placed. The extensive breakfast menu covers a full English alongside breakfast baps, and hot drinks run from a pot of tea to coffee, with alternative milk available for anyone avoiding dairy. Food can be eaten in or ordered to take away for eating off site. Tables outside open up outdoor dining, and dogs are welcome. High chairs make the room workable for families with young children. Doors open daily through the daytime, and booking ahead is recommended.

Customer Review Summary
The cooked breakfast is what draws most reviewers here, described as freshly cooked to order in very generous portions, with one calling it joint first on their chart of best breakfasts in the UK. Close behind sit the smaller plates several single out by name, sausage on toast, breakfast baps and sandwiches, eggs and bacon, and delicious toast, alongside a well regarded pot of tea and the availability of alternative milk. Several describe a cosy, friendly room and note the cafe is often busy with one person running it, which most frame as impressive coordination though one felt it slowed things after opening and left the bacon so overcooked it snapped rather than cut. One reviewer reports finding the toilet, kitchen and counter area dirty. Others mention improvement since a change of ownership, and one recounts arriving before opening time on a cold morning and being let in early and served hot drinks.

“Nice little cafe. The lady on the day was in her own for most of the time we were there which i think didnt help as it was busy straight after opening. The breakfast was very well priced. Unfortunately the bacon was so overcooked it was easier to snap it rather than cut it.”

“We arrived at the cafe 30 minutes before the opening time, however the lovely lady inside opened the shop early for us and served us hot drinks to escape from the cold. Thank you! Amazing service and drinks. Would recommend :)”

“My partner and I enjoyed a yummy and relaxed Sunday breakfast at this cosy, warm and friendly cafe. We both had cooked breakfasts, which were tasty with very generous portions. Really accomodating when my partner wanted to pick his cooked breakfast items. The lady running the cafe was super friendly and seriously impressive making and serving the delicious food whilst singlehandedly coordinating everyone's orders (which seemed to stream in all at once!) Absolutely fantastic value - I wish I lived closer so that I could visit regularly. Cosy, comfortable, great food and prices and a warm friendly atmostphere. Loved the decor too. Thanks for a lovely visit and we hope to stop by again. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
