About Rams Head Disley
Rams Head Disley is a gastropub in Stockport on Buxton Rd W, with menus that draw on British produce. The sharing roast platter comes with cauliflower cheese and dauphinois potatoes, and it is served for a table to share. A baked camembert starter arrives with hot honey. Open fires are kept going in the colder months, and dogs are welcome both inside and out, so visitors can bring a pet along with them.

Customer Review Summary
The caveats centre on execution. One reviewer found a pork main dry and overcooked, with gravy lacking depth and dauphinoise potatoes heavy with rosemary. Another found both the roast and dauphinoise potatoes tasteless and the roasts hard and dry. A couple note slow service or late drinks when busy, and one suggests booking since the pub is occasionally full. Reviewers also mention using a console or validation inside to avoid a parking ticket, and one says the building front needs a repaint.

“We had excellent meals in the Rams Head. Very tasty and well presented. A great atmosphere as well.”

“Our favourite pub in the Disley area. We come here most weekends, often after a walk around Lyme Park, and the food is always excellent. We’ve tried a few other pubs nearby, but this is the one we always come back to. The rear garden is fantastic, especially after the recent refurbishment. Great food, lovely atmosphere and easily our favourite place for a weekend meal. In the colder months, they also keep the fireplace going, which makes the pub especially cosy.”

“Called without notice for a Sunday lunch...around 6pm. 4 adults 2kids. Staff were super friendly, and they had clearly been very busy, but we were nonetheless accommodated. The Inn is lovely inside, very of its period..beer garden looked amazing. The drinks were a little ate arriving but given how busy the place was , it was understandable. Food was lovely, veg option of nut roast especially so. Given we were last minute, and it was Sunday tea time, it was a good meal had by all. Especial shout out to the young man running front of house, whose name, shame on me I didn't get. He was very professional. Many thanks rams head!..we'll be back!”

“Place is beautiful, staff were friendly and attentive, we had the sharing roast platter, meat was well cooked and delicious root vegetables were well seasoned, cauliflower cheese BANGING best I’ve ever had however felt the potato’s (had two kinds roast and dauphinois) both were tasteless the roast were hard and a bit dry as well however would come back just for the cauliflower cheese!”

“Had the most lovely buffet lunch for a family party! The staff were all wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. The buffet was delicious and there was more than enough food! The room was perfect, enough room for us all and we could mingle freely between ourselves whilst being separate from the rest of the pub. They also let us decorate with a few banners and decorations, which made the whole thing more personal! The access outside was great too, even though it was raining we could access the tables under the awning and let in some fresh air too. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here again for another family meal and would 100% recommend to others!”
