Customer Review Summary

Friendly, welcoming staff are the most repeated draw, with reviewers describing smiley servers, quick drinks and a manager who refunded a regular's two meals after a complaint. Food praise centers on the tapas, shared in larger bowls at a baby shower for fourteen and called mostly excellent on a busy Saturday night. Reviewers also name sausage and egg on sourdough and a very good soup of the day. Others mention fab coffee, cocktails and mocktails, a vegan menu, and a child friendly setup with highchairs and colouring menus. The main caveat is food consistency. One longtime Sunday regular reports a vegan burger with a boiled patty and stale bun, then a return visit where the breakfast arrived cold, with burnt bacon, halloumi and toast. Other reviewers note a long bar wait, confusion over deducting a booking deposit, a garlic flatbread priced like the meat tapas, unfinished drinks cleared away, and a chef carrying rubbish bags through the dining area. One dog owner mentions a free sausage for their dog and plenty of dog biscuits.

“Food was excellent, fresh and a good range of options. Only criticism would be that staff did not seem to understand that we had each paid £5 deposit per person to book the table and were not clear on how they deducted this from our final bill. This was resolved quickly by a more experienced member of staff, but did cause delays when ordering and paying which could have been avoided with better staff training.”

“Lovely dinner spot. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. The servers were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Drinks came out very fast and the food was ready in 10 minutes. Our meals were great and good value for money. Would definitely come again!”

“A busy lounge and first time in a while that we had to wait to be seated. However once seated service was good and staff were friendly and smiley. Bruno was treated to a free sausage so was very happy. There were also plenty of dog biscuits available. We had Sausage amd Egg on sourdough. Very nice. A good stop on our way up North.”

“So this review has been a few months in the making, but one I can’t now ignore. Myself and my partner have been loyal customers to versa lounge for the past two years at least, coming every Sunday. We have the same food every time we come. I completely appreciate you will know who this is. For 1 year and 10 months, the food, the staff and the atmosphere has been unbeatable, Granted they’re isn’t a large amount of choice in Stafford. Last month, we had an issue with the vegan burger with the patty being ‘boiled’ poorly, with a stale bun to match. My large breakfast was semi edible. Spoke with a manager for a heads up that it wasn’t great, being regular customers it was very polite and didn’t expect anything, but the manager went above and beyond snd refunded us for both full meals. It was greatly appreciated and an important point to make, your staff are fantastic. All of them. Where as it wasn’t our intention for a full refund, we thought they would take note of our comments but how wrong we were. Left an hour ago after our usual meal (same thing every time) and both once again were completely inedible. The worst yet. Every single thing on the plate was cold. Paid for extra bacon which was inedible as it had been burnt to a literal crisp. Same for the halloumi, and also the side of toast. This time I didn’t bother raising it with a member of staff, we didn’t expect a refund the first time round and honestly wished you’d kept the money, but at least listened to what we had to say in regards to the quality of the food you’re serving. We were at Argento lounge in Preston just yesterday, same meals again and the food was absolutely phenomenal so know that it’s just now unfortunately this one site. You’ve lost two customers as we won’t be returning until standards have improved at the very least. At £22 a breakfast (with extras) and a £52 bill for everything, bang in the middle for price realistically this day and age but I expect at the very least that it’s edible. It is important to mention again that your staff are brilliant however. This isn’t a complaint, but a little hope that you’ll now listen to feedback.”

“Me and my boyfriend popped in today, and we were served by the lovely Belinda! I just wanted to say that she made the whole experience absolutely incredible! She was so so lovely and despite it being so busy and what seemed like a long day due to everyone, including us, wanting to come enjoy the sun, she didn’t let that stop her from being incredibly friendly and so happy and kind! We already love Verso Lounge, but she made it even nicer! Thank you for the incredible service, and I really hope this gets passed onto her! <3”
