Customer Review Summary

Fish and chips anchor nearly every account, though reviewers split sharply over them. Several describe good food with excellent sized portions and friendly staff, and one visitor to the area says they would go again and recommends it, while another singles out the kebab meat as some of the best they have eaten. The chips draw the most consistent criticism: called soggy from grease, barely warm, or turning to mush on the trip home, with one reviewer asking for them to be cooked longer. Complaints about the fish recur as well, a large cod described as no bigger than a battered sausage, batter thick enough to compare to tarmac, and a fish cake called dry. One reviewer reports an order of fish, chips and curry sauce that tasted as though it had sat since lunchtime, and another recounts a staff member insulting their child over a chips order and then charging extra. Milder notes cover average food, limited choice midweek, and good value on the daily deals.

Was on holiday in the area so this was a local chippy, food was good with excellent sized portions, staff were very friendly, no complaints and would definitely go again and highly recommend.
  • Scott Murcott
Lovely little chippy, limited choice for a Tuesday unfortunately. I'm sure weekends are hopefully better

We paid about £7 each, which isn’t bad for a chippy, but the food was average. The daily deals (~£5.50) are good value. Chips were well-cooked but very soggy from grease, the fish cake was dry. Great service and friendly staff plus very fast we didn’t wait more than 5 minutes, but it’s cash only.
  • Lindsay Wilcox
Paid almost £30 for fish chips and curry sauce times 2. Absolutely disgusting. I am sure it has been sat there since lunchtime. Never again.
  • Mark Diggory
Some of the best kebab meat I've eaten fish good but chips could do with being cooked a little longer as can turn to mush by the time you get home.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
