Customer Review Summary

Reviewers point most to the steak and fries lunch deal, calling the quality incredible value, and one praises a tomato and chilly soup. Fresh local seafood and steaks also draw credit, though one finds it quite expensive. The sharpest complaint involves scallops drowned in fish sauce and jelly-like, plus a decaf latte and Americano sent back repeatedly and refunded. Several suggest reserving ahead.

“We had the lunch menu today and the food was outstanding. I had the soup to start which was the best Tomato and chilly soup I've tasted (and I only have Tomato soup!) And far better than the one of the top hotels in Scotland. I would highly …”

“This was our first restaurant experience on our trip to Scotland, and honestly, one of the best. A lovely little cozy spot with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, quick service, and such friendly staff. Everything was delicious, and we really enjoyed the warm atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in St Andrews!”

“First visit September 2026. Ordered carrots, brocolli, pork belly, scallops and lamb souvlaki. Very quite at 18:00 but was nearly full by 19:00, so best to reserve. For the price it was okay. four dishes were pleasant. However, 3 yes 3 scallops for £19 which had been drowned in 'fish-sauce' were horrid. Scallops need sone mild flavours if any, especially if fresh. How old were these? Very jelly like. The comical part of the evening is how long it took for the waitress to prepare a decaf latte ... which was still undrinkable and refunded. The first time we got an Americano, sent back ... 10 minutes later ... same Americano with jug of cold milk ..... 10 minutes ... same now cold coffee with frothy milk poured on top .... really acrid taste and cold coffee, which was requested 'extra hot'. What company does not train their staff and sends them out to customers without knowing what even a latte is? You are not 'Rogue' by name and 'Rogue' by nature ...train your staff. Take care of your staff and they will take care of your business, train them ! I won't be back, there are better places to eat, with a nicer dining experience.”

“Very wide choice of fresh local seafood and steaks. Excellent menu and creative presentation. A popular venue, so reserving a table in advance is recommended. Quite expensive.”

“We first visited Rogue for lunch and tried the £10 steak and fries deal. Honestly, we couldn't believe how good it was – amazing quality and incredible value. We enjoyed it so much that we booked to come back on the Saturday evening. …”
