Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return to this village pub mostly for the welcome, with several describing how warmly strangers and "blow-ins" were treated by the barman and the regulars. One visitor says staff pulled out a table near the television so they could watch the match, and another mentions a dart match night with the bar open late. The beer selection comes up repeatedly, including good Guinness, spirits and Somersby cider, and a few call the prices reasonable or more than fair. One reviewer contrasts it with city pubs that have lost this small-community feel, and another says it has real atmosphere rather than just looks. One parent calls it kid friendly. The only reservations are two middling reviews, one finding it chilly though clean and quiet. Several reviewers close on the same moment, being greeted warmly as newcomers and made to feel welcome.

“Just me and a few locals. The barman was excellent, and it made me feel welcome in the bar. There was a dart match that evening and the pub stayed open to 11pm. Good selection of beers, spirits and Somersby cider.”

“Popped in for a few drinks whilst visiting relatives in the village . A warm welcome, and a good selection of beers at reasonable prices. This is not meant to sound patronising but coming from an English city this is exactly what a small community pub should be like, something sadly lost back home.”
