  “This is a weird one. As a lecturer at DJCAD and a regular at AB, I was shocked to be treated appallingly by an unlicensed bouncer on the door on 22 May 26. This was a woman in her sixties with long blonde plaits smoking and abusing people in the queue. As a result of this unpleasantness I will not return. She was rude, aggressive, and attempted to cause trouble. Art Bar should be reminded that it is against the law to have unlicensed bouncers, possibly for the reasons above. This woman claimed to be the owner and should therefore know the licensing laws. Police made aware, video evidence provided.”

  “I loved going to Art bar but recently the male staff member is offensively rude! He didn’t follow the instruction about how we want our drink to be and out rightly said, “now the drink is made, you have to take it!”. While walking out at the end when we gave him the feedback, he again was hell rude and said, Now leave! Highly disappointed!!! People visiting this bar don’t come for fancy drinks or fancy place! It’s the atmosphere, the calmness! Please maintain that! Look and train your staff if you are hiring new people!”

  “I have not tried the food but was here with one of my friends on an open mic night and had a few drinks and must say the atmosphere is lovely, such nice staff at the bar and so welcoming. The person I was with sang as well and had an amazing response even when he did miss the lyrics here and there, the crowd still cheered on him. A perfect place to vibe in with your friends.”

  “Decent bar, had a good selection of beers on draft and several more varieties bottled. Service initially started off pretty good but when a friend showed signs of excessive drunkeness they advised they'd called a taxi and moments later advised the taxi had arrived. However, exiting the premises there was no taxi and it seemed that instead of showing they cared for my friends wellbeing they just wanted her out of the pub!”

  “Back in Dundee for a couple of weeks, sad to see art bar unrecognisable from the lovely pub I used to come to a few years ago. No more friendly atmosphere, staff rude even to regulars, lights don’t get turned down in the evening it always feels like the bar is closing. no DJ on Friday night. Totally lost it’s soul”

  “Went in on a team building day spent over £ 50 on each round of drinks. Asked for food only to be informed no food available. Barman constantly coming over asking us to be quiet dowm even though no one else in bar.we are upstanding members of our community and have never been treated in such an appalling manner in our considerable experience even to the point where we were forced to leave because of hostile atmosphere”

  “Great vibe, great music, great people, been away from Dundee for about five years, I come back at least one or twice every year during that time. It hasn't changed. That is a good thing. Will always be one my favourite bars to drink in. Love it here!”

  “A Hidden gem, too easy to bypass yet easily a highlight of town. The bar has low ceilings but makes up for it in character, music, booze selection and comfort. Excellent atmosphere.”
