About Duke's Corner

Duke's Corner is a pub on Brown St in Dundee that hosts live bands and stays open late into the night. The kitchen runs barbecues with local produce, and the food menu also lists burgers, including a jalapeño burger, along with pizzas and chunky chips. Loaded fries come as a side. The bar pours a large selection of craft ales and draft beers, plus whisky and cocktails. Orders are placed through a QR code on the table. Big tables and plenty of floor space suit groups, and a DJ plays on some nights. The pub is walk-in.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the beer selection, with craft ales and draft beers in the beer garden, and whisky and frozen cocktails close behind. Burgers come next: one reviewer enjoyed an IPA with the jalapeño burger, another praised juicy burgers and loaded fries, and a third mentions chunky chips and pizzas. Parmesan hash browns and a Hugo spritz also earn praise. Staff are described as friendly and fast, and several say the big tables suit large groups. The recurring complaint is cost. A few call the food pricey, one found a bottle of wine and a small soda expensive, and another found the menu a bit meh, mostly fried fare. Music is called very loud, though conversation stays possible, and one reviewer wants the DJ to settle on a vibe. Ordering by QR code left one diner unsure what to do on arrival. On a busy Friday, one reviewer's wrong food order was spotted straight away and came back hot.

“Good atmosphere, but the DJ needs to decide a vibe and stick with it.”

“Visited before eating at a nearby restaurant on a very busy DDE Sunday so sat outside. Bar staff friendly ordered a bottle of wine Pinot at £26.50 which i thought was expensive, with a glass (medium size) of soda at £1.50 again very expensive. It was nice to sit outside its a spacious area.”

“Came across this place when travelling to Dundee for work. Maybe I'm used to Edinburgh prices but I thought this place was really reasonably priced for what you got, and I'd absolutely go back. We had a salad and a pizza, and they could reduce the pizza to a 10" as a 12 was too much for me. We shared a side of Parmesan hash browns, which were epic. The Hugo spritz I had was far better than the one I'd had elsewhere the night before. They'd done some painting which you could smell when going upstairs for the bathrooms, everything looked fresh, clean, and like they cared about where they work. We ordered using a QR code at the table, and a few mins later a member of staff appeared to take our order, so there's a disconnect somewhere. It's not obvious what to do when going in so we'd just sat at a table, maybe that wasn't the right thing to do. Could do with better signage maybe?”

“Great beer selection, with whisky, cocktails etc hot on it's heels Awesome service, despite being very busy, nothing was a problem (my food came out wrong, it was spotted straight away and fixed and delivered hot, didn't have to lift a finger) It was Friday,so it was fairly loud and conversations were difficult, but not impossible Great for mixed groups of any size”
