  “We loved our visit to The Bridges. We ate a Ploughman’s and Mac Cheese followed by Merringue with cream and apricots and vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious and served promptly. We’ll be going back soon. A lovely comfortable and fresh environment and the staff were friendly and fun.”

  “A most excellent evening meal at the Bridges pub yesterday. A limited menu means that what they do, they do very well. The best steak pie I have ever tasted, with a side of buttered vegetables, cooked to perfection. The pub is located in a stunning spot at the base of the Long Mynd, the building thoughtfully restored and extended, creating a nice atmosphere for both drinkers and diners, with happy, helpful staff 👍👍”

  “We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. The roast was absolutely spot on—perfectly cooked meat, crisp roasts, and rich gravy. The ambience was lovely and relaxing, making it the perfect spot to unwind for the weekend. To top it off, the service was attentive and friendly from start to finish.”

  “What a fantastic find for a beautiful lunchtime stop. We were genuinely surprised by just how lovely this pub is and how good the food was. Our daughters are vegetarian and there were plenty of great options for them, as well as for the rest of us. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, with peaceful countryside and natural beauty all around. Our youngest daughter especially loved exploring by the stream. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the service was excellent throughout. A big shout out to Emily for her warm and friendly service and lovely chats, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We were also pleased to see that there are rooms available to stay in, and we would definitely put it on our list for when we return to the area. Having now read some of the negative reviews after our visit, we were quite surprised, as they did not reflect our experience at all. The staff were lovely, food and service fantastic and if a popular pub is busy, there may occasionally be a wait, but that simply reflects how many people want to be there. We had a wonderful experience and would happily return again!”

  “Lovely pub, grew up around here so know it well, but something has gone very wrong when a slice of cheap bread and some cheddar sauce is £7.50 and no, I don't think that's me being tight! Not even any crisps or salad on the side. Croque Monsieur this is not... 🤣 …”

  “Visiting The Bridge at Ratlinghope was a delightful experience, perfect for an evening out with friends. The restaurant offers a modern yet homely vibe that instantly makes you feel at ease. The atmosphere is both relaxing and inviting, with **cosy lighting** that enhances the intimate setting. The restaurant is very clean and well-presented, contributing to a comfortable dining experience. The staff truly elevated our visit. They were excellent throughout, being both attentive and friendly. Even the locals were warm and welcoming, which added to the overall charm of the place. The food was what I would call “fussy” but in a good way—thoughtfully prepared and full of flavour. I ordered the venison chill, which was absolutely delicious. My companions enjoyed the burger and ham from the bar menu, both of which received high praise. The portion sizes were adequate, leaving everyone satisfied. For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying the rice pudding and rhubarb, which was delightful and a perfect end to our meal. In terms of pricing, it was definitely on par with the quality of the food and service we received. Overall, I highly recommend The Bridge at Ratlinghope. It’s a wonderful spot for a relaxed dinner, and I’d rate my experience a perfect 10/10. We all look forward to returning.”
