Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the pancakes and waffles, with the fried chicken waffle and the banoffee waffle named most often, the latter described as light and airy. Close behind are the banana bread pancakes, the French toast, and the smoothies and a raspberry ripple shake, which one reviewer calls lovely. Several praise the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, and a few mention vegan, gluten free and dairy free options. Portions are repeatedly called big enough to need takeaway boxes. The same size draws the main complaints. One reviewer found the banana bread pancakes too big and dry, needing sides like whipped cream, and the fried chicken came slightly overcooked. Another found the scrambled eggs very dry and the fried mushrooms unseasoned, calling the food plain and basic. One felt the French toast and bacon were just okay. Some say the place is crowded, and one suggests booking ahead. One group pre-ordered for a birthday and left with leftovers boxed up.

“Been here plenty of times and would highly recommend if you want either, amazing waffles, amazing pancakes, or amazing French toast and breakfast!”

“I went to the cabin with my sister for birthday breakfast/brunch and we loved the food and cozy atmosphere. I had fried chicken waffle with hash browns and mushrooms. Food was delicious and the portions are "big" - we both had to take a "doggy bags" home. Will definitely visit again. A+”

“As a Canadian over here in Sheffield for football, finding places that make you feel grounded and comfortable is everything. Being far from home isn't always easy, but walking into The Cabin completely changed the game for me. I can say without a doubt that every single little aspect of this place was absolutely perfect. First off, the vibe is incredible. It genuinely feels like a cozy, high-end slice of home. The atmosphere immediately takes the edge off any homesickness—it’s warm, welcoming, and has this rustic, comfortable energy that you just don't find everywhere. Now, the food. Wow. As a Canadian, I have pretty high standards for a proper brunch, and The Cabin blew them out of the water. The pancakes and waffles are elite—fluffy, massive, and cooked to absolute perfection. You can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients, and the execution is flawless every single time. Whether you’re looking for a massive fuel-up or just a phenomenal comfort meal, this is the spot. Beyond the food, the service is what really sets them apart. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They bring an energy that makes you feel like a regular the second you walk through the door. If you are a traveler, an athlete looking for a great spot to reset, or just someone who appreciates a flawless brunch experience, do yourself a favor and visit. It didn't just give me an amazing meal; it gave me a space where I didn't have to miss home quite as much. 10/10, I will be living here while I'm in Sheffield!”

“I’m honestly surprised how popular and busy this place is given the very poor food quality. I like the idea of building your own pancake or bagel, but the outcome was rather disappointing. Very dry scrambled eggs, unseasoned, fried mushrooms, the overall taste was just very plain and basic. Not a place for me unfortunately. I’m giving 3* but I think that’s very generous.”
