  “Was in Sheffield for the night & this place stood out as somewhere good to eat. Got seated and the staff were attentive. Ordered drinks then food . Only slight moan is that it was bang bang bang withe tapas. But it’s no big deal. The food was tasty and we enjoyed it. The dancing downstairs isn’t for me but those dancing seemed to love it . We enjoyed a drink in the courtyard afterwards and the vibe was decent.”

  “Really good shots available. Never been before, thought nights out sucked in Sheffield for dancing, came here and was amazing. Made me so happy to see people skillfully dancing on the dance floor and it was such a vibe. Felt like I was in Cuba.”

  “Visited on a Sunday evening. Was very busy due but they were happy to fit us in. Really nice service, always felt welcome. Food was great, and exactly what we wanted. Calamari was perfect. Cocktails were also great. Live music when we visited, which really made the atmosphere great. Will be back.”

  “Visited Cubana for food twice now, having previously called in for drinks (beer, mojito and coffee on separate occasions). Most recent visit was Friday 17 October 2025. What really stood out this time was the gluten free offering - not just the number of options on the tapas menu, but the staff’s confident, common-sense approach to coeliac requirements. They acknowledged my dietary needs without fuss and relayed them to the kitchen, which is partly visible from the restaurant, which is a reassuring touch. Being able to order and share dishes with my wife (without the usual stress or isolation) made a huge difference. It’s rare to find a venue where coeliac diners can genuinely join in and not have to panic about stray morsels and mistakes with the forks! We had dishes including Pollo Y Chorizo, Patatas Bravas, Risotto, and Albóndigas (meat balls) - all clearly marked gluten free and all delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive (and there’s a good number of them), and they’re constantly engaging with each other and guests. The only slight niggle is their keenness to clear plates and drinks, sometimes prematurely. On our first visit, my unfinished beer bottle was whisked away, and I had to (awkwardly) call it back before it was thrown into the recycling bin. On our most recent visit, risotto was still in the dish when it was taken and, again, returned without drama, but it does leave you feeling a bit rushed. Possibly a case of wanting to appear efficient even when the room isn’t busy. The restaurant is upstairs above the main bar, though there’s also a decent sized bar in the dining area. Dancing lessons take place downstairs. I’ve only seen them on Saturdays, but they run on other days too. People following the salsa moves is a lovely sight to watch while sipping a coffee (OK, I mean mojito!). There are occasional live music “turns” on throughout the venue, though I’ve not seen enough to comment fairly. I’ve been gently encouraged to join in the dancing… one day! Atmosphere-wise, it’s lively but not overwhelming. Even when the dancing and singing fills the building, the dining space remains relaxed and welcoming. For anyone with coeliac disease, Cubana is a rare find…it’s thoughtful, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable. For everyone else, it’s a great spot for tapas, cocktails, and a bit of Latin style. Will return here for sure (and get some more photos!) – it’s now on my list of “go to” venues. Just ease off with the plate and bottle collection! 😊”

  “Great food served upstairs, portions are huge! I ordered 3 tapas dishes and 2 would have been enough. Staff were great, and food reasonably priced and good quality. Only marked atmosphere down as live music was a bit loud for a restaurant.”
