About Diyafa

Diyafa is a Middle Eastern restaurant at 95 Wicker in Sheffield, serving Yemeni food. The lamb zorbian is an enormous portion that can feed two to three people, so one plate can cover a small group. Chicken and lamb mandi and chicken and lamb kabsa sit alongside it on the menu, and meals come with complimentary soup. The dining room is small, with art inside and decor that draws on Yemen. Service runs at fast-food speed.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the enormous portions, with the lamb zorbian the dish named most, described as tender and big enough to feed two or three. Chicken and lamb mandi, chicken and lamb kabsa and a spaghetti and mince dish also earn praise, and an araisi drink is called tasty and unique. Close behind are the fast service, polite and friendly staff, and the Yemeni feel of the room, which one reviewer says makes them feel like they are sitting in Yemen. Several mention the complimentary soup and say prices are great, and some note leftovers to take home. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the mandi rice pretty bland and wanted more flavour, though the chicken was well cooked, and another reported a coin in the soup, for which staff apologised. Families mention complimentary lollipops for the kids.

“Came here every week and the food is always really good. I've had the Zorbian lamb, chicken and lamb mandi, and chicken and lamb kabsa, and they've all been great. Prices are amazing and you even get complimentary soup. Thanks to Oshon as well for sorting my big order at the last minute. Will definitely keep coming back.”

“A gem that deserves way more recognition! This place is so underrated and doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves. Lightning-fast service, huge portions and the food comes out piping hot and absolutely delicious every single time. The complimentary soup is a generous touch too. We will absolutely keep coming back and supporting this place. Do yourself a favour and try it!”

“Finally, got round to trying this spot. Authentic feel to the place and some lovely art inside. The menu has so many brilliant options and priced amazingly. Grabbed an araisi drink for myself and the lamb zorbian to share. The drink was tasty and unique, with the lamb dish being an enormous portion. It can easily feed two to three with such tender lamb making the experience that much better.”
