  “Called in on a Friday afternoon. Had the small fish and chips. They were a really good portion and the fish was beautiful. Best fish and chips ive had in years. Proper batter as it should be. The lady behind the till was welcoming and really pleasant. Would highly recommend.”

  “Edit - May 2026. We had another drive out from Leeds to Salburn only to get F&C from Oscar's! Another delicious meal, Fabulous white fish & excellent chips. Well worth the visit. 2026 edit end. ____________________________ I wish we could give 10 / 10 stars. Popped over to play the penny arcades & have a walk on the pier, stopped of here for a bite to eat on the outdoor benches ...... wonderful F&C. Proper chips with light batter on the fish & cracking curry sauce. I even went back to say thank you. It was THAT tasty. This will be out go too grub stop from now on.”

  “Visted yesterday and waited almost an hour in the queue as it was the shorter one of the two on a lovely sunny day. However in hindsight the other shop had more tills and staff serving. The chips were nice but my gosh the portion of chips small,£3 and it was one scoop. I asked for a couple more chips as I was starving and waited almost an hour for this teeny portion and the rude girl on the food section said no you can pay for some more though and wait another however long...imagine. Wow its a couple of chips not a free fish! That in itself I found unexpected and unusual. Little things that have little to no impact on the business really make a difference for the customer service experience experience. Profit margins must be massive. The mushy peas were horrendous tasteless and watery. Left them all. Fish batter was lovely light and crisp however the fish... I perservered and took three bites given the length of time and how hungry I was. I couldn't eat it looked and tasted undercooked. I hope I don't get ill. Will update if I do. So I had a scoop of batter and teeny portion of chips for around £13. Two hour drive and left disappointed and hungrier than when I arrived. Do not recomend”

  “If you are at beach and never try fish & chips it mean you missed real fun but things different at Saltburn. Because this is the only fish & chips so customers haven’t choice but to face bad customer service and poor food.”

  “Nice fish and chips, however the establishment really lets itself down with the drink it serves as part of the kids meal. This was a carton of cheap bubblegum flavoured juice, although juice is far from an accurate description. It actually says in the ingredients that it may cause adverse effects on children's activity and concentration! How on earth is this crap still allowed in our food chain, and why would it be sold as part of a kids meal. I'm all for the occasional treat but this stuff is so packed with chemicals it would be better placed in Chernobyl.”

  “The BEST fish and chips I've had in a very long time. The chips were nicely brown not the pale anemic type you get from some places, with a decent portion size too. The fish was delicious, with a crispy batter that wasn't too greasy. Add in a good helping of scraps and lots of lovely salt and vinegar. The staff were lovely and extremely quick. So I'd highly recommend Oscars fish and chips.”

  “Really good fish and chips. Fresh and a good size. Prices are reasonable. Outside seating area which is great with sea views on a dry day! No amenities but there are some good, clean public toilets not far away.”
