Customer Review Summary

Reviewers praise the clean, comfortable rooms and the cooked breakfast, though one found it cold on several days. Pub visitors repeatedly report dirty crockery left on outdoor tables, sticky tables and toilets that looked uncleaned, and one describes blocked cubicles and flies. Proper chips and salad earn praise, while a chicken burger was called cold and rubbery. One guest was woken at 6am by beer barrel deliveries.

“Myself and my husband had lunch in your wetherspoons yesterday. The food was adequate however when we used the toilets bot mens and ladies were not the best. Didn't look like they had been cleaned. We went outside for a drink and every single table had dirty crockery on it. There was no one clearing the tables and there were plenty of staff around. To be honest we go to a lot of wetherspoons but won't be coming back to this one.”

“Went to Salisbury for the day and decided to pop into The Kings Head being a Wetherspoons. We started looking for a table outside being a beautiful sunny day but struggled to find a clear table. There were dirty plates and left over meals everywhere. Any cleared tables were sticky and dirty and needed a wipe down. So we ended up inside but unfortunately that wasn't any better. I don't know if they were short staffed bit 3 tables later we found a non sticky clean table. We were going to order lunch but decided to give it a miss based on the cleanliness of place. Went to the ladies and the first toilet door didn't shut or lock. The next two were blocked with unpleasant stuff and toilet paper. In summary there were more flies buzzing around upstairs and landing on my glass than there were customers. Really disappointed ☹️”

“The King's Head Inn was where we stayed on a recent visit to Salisbury. The hotel is connected to a Wetherspoons pub. It is a very old building and looks great. Due to my disability we were in an accessible room. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. However, the bathroom hadn't any surfaces you could place toiletries, etc. The basin tap didn't turn off properly and the fan in thee bathroom was exceptionally loud. These were only minor things and we worked round them. The receptionist and housekeeping staff were excellent, they were friendly and helpful at all time. We were able to buy a breakfast most days from Wetherspoons which was downstairs. There was a wide range of cooked items on offer. However, at least 3 of the days our breakfast was cold, this was probably due to volume of people as the prices were very reasonable. Some of the staff were friendly, chatty and helpful, but a lot didn't even smile which was sad. There were 2 nights where our sleep was interrupted. The first was at 6am, when a delivery (or collection) of beer barrels, the noise was unbearable in our room. We couldn't get back to sleep later when they'd finished. The Second time was due to a fire alarm going off early in the morning. We were about to leave our room to get to the muster point, to be told by a member of staff that it was a false alarm. That day there wasn't any food available. For the money, our stay was ok. Maybe next time we'll spend more. Thank you.”

“Room was really clean & comfy, with all mod cons, Iron, ironing board & hairdryer in the room plus tea & coffee making facilities and bottled water. In the bar we encountered 'the bear' (see other google reviews) When my husband ordered a pint on the app, he slammed the pint on the table with such force I thought it would break! But apart from this service and helpfulness of the staff was first rate. The breakfasts we had came quickly after ordering and on hot plates no complaints from us! Free tea & coffee refills for hotel residents is a great bonus too.”

“First time meeting friends at this Spoons. Good location and site. Lovely big pub and garden. Salad good, proper chips were great. Chicken burger was terrible. Cold, flavourless and rubbery. Yuck”
