About The Duck Inn
The Duck Inn is a village pub in Laverstock, on the outskirts of Salisbury, set on Duck Ln. Its beer garden looks onto woodland and has seating under the trees, which makes it a stop for walkers with dogs. At the bar, Hop Back Brewery's Summer Lightning is served as a real ale. The food menu centres on chips and simple pub fare, with a soup of the day, including a Cauliflower & Stilton soup, and a ploughman's as a starter. Sunday lunches are also served.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly staff, who made walkers, families and a group with 8 people and 5 dogs feel welcome, and one party gathering after a funeral thanked them for accommodating 16 relatives. Food comes next. Diners praise the Sunday lunches with generous portions, the chips described as magnificent, the soup of the day and a superb ploughmans starter, and several note it arrives quickly, even out in the beer garden. Beer earns close mention too, with a nice selection and Hop Back Brewery's Summer Lightning singled out as a golden real ale. The one recurring snag is in the cooking: a three-star reviewer found the Cauliflower and Stilton soup very watery with little sign of cheese, and the chicken bites tasty but over salted with little garnish. Others describe the spot as peaceful under the trees, with very few ducks, and one reviewer's group lingered over a Sunday lunch they left feeling very satisfied by.

“Lovely pub, nestled in the village of Laverstock on the outskirts of Salisbury. Nice selection of beers, let down by a very watery Cauliflower & Stilton soup (what cheese?). The chicken bites were tasty but over salted and with little garnish.”
