  “From the get go the service was extremely friendly and attentive. We sat under the vines in the back section which was lovely on a summers day. But I’d like to go back and experience the beach huts in the garden too. They’d be a great space for a small, cosy friends group. Delicious and generous portions of food. From the poppadums at the start through to the mains and many sides. We were stuffed by the end (eyes bigger than belly!) Loved the combination of Indian classics and great specials too. Exceptional value for money with starters, main, poppadums, rice, naans and sides all for £29.50 per person. This is the rare time I wish I lived closer than Sydney, Australia because I’d be here every week! Thank you 🙏”

  “Visited on a Friday evening. Very busy but not too noisy. Food quality was excellent though the dishes cools have been spicier for my palette. I would say that I think I was overcharged as everyone was in a rush to pay, so just be careful. Didn't realise until I was home.”

  “The most fantastic and friendly Indian we have been to. It’s now a family regular for meet ups The host was so helpful the first time explaining their menu £25 à head or £28 with starter. Plenty of poppodums and about 7 dishes with it. Main came with two sides and garlic naan and peshwari. Highly recommended”

  “Unique menu, simple one page, order main or starter and a main. Fixed price and the staff will bring you poppadoms, naan rice and a couple sides. Fantastic idea! Food was great also, I couldn’t finish so took mine for lunch the next day. Nice cosy interior had a nice homely atmosphere when filled with customers. The outdoor seating area was inviting, unfortunately too cold this time of year I think.”

Waiting did nothing so… to the bar. Maître’d and/ or sign would be good… That said, the rest of the experience was nearly flawless. It has been at least ten years since I ate here last. There is now a simplified menu, unlike most Indian restaurants. Everything you need to enjoy a meal, but without the complications. Popadoms and accompliments were swift to arrive, shortly followed by a beverage and order. The food was really good, I found the lime pickle too overpowering, but in small amounts it was very tasty. The mains, well truly great… (personally the madras was very mild, tikka masala in heat). But the flavours are really good. I am one to try the side dishes, but they were so good I ate them all (I regret this now lol), mains were to perfection. So to the marked down parts, and by no means this is not a reason not to visit. Attentiveness: had to ask for more drinks, no check on how the meal was. Honestly; that is it! Nothing I could fault… other than me leaving it ten years to come again, thank you for a great meal.”

  “I went here with my family for a mid week meal on my visit to Bournemouth, and it was a great night out. The atmosphere is amazing and it really is a cosy cottage vibe, the aesthetic really reflects this, chopped wood for the fires and wine cellar style storage for the wines, dotted around the restaurant. Shad (owner) is so warm and friendly, and clearly makes an effort to get to know people and customers. I even met his little dog. We were originally sitting outside waiting for a table inside, but as outside was so toasty (outside heaters and fireplace) we stayed out there and had a great time despite it raining there was plenty of shelter and warmth. The service was fabulous, the servers were very attentive and served with a smile. Prices were reasonable, £28pp for starter and main course. As I have a nut allergy I usually don't eat Indian, but, it was nice to eat freely as most of their dishes avoided nuts and I didn't get any allergic reaction. I tried a dish with chicken, mango and sweet potato curry. All main courses come with poppadoms, naan and rice options. When I'm next down from London, would definitely make another visit.”

  “What a wonderful experience this restaurant was tonight. The atmosphere is the warmest and nicest you will ever find, and the food superb quality. We would fully recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning when next in Ringwood.”

  “This was the first time we had come to this restaurant for my daughter’s birthday. It was a family meal 2 adults 4 children. It was a simplistic menu which was quite good as there wasn’t huge choice to cause you confusion. There was a set menu which was fine - but no kids set menu option. The starters came (asked for all vegetarian) it came with chicken & fish so it had to go back & come back again. It came back correctly and the starters were pleasant although some were still cold/frozen inside sadly and couldn’t really be enjoyed. Just to mention the dips and popadoms were very nice. The main meals came and the taste was very nice, well presented. We did feel when the bill came in at £200.00 just seemed quite steep for what we received. The set menu is pretty expensive especially as small children need to pick a set adult meal cost between 26/30£.”

  “India Cottage is an absolute delight. The service was incredible, warm, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff made us feel so welcome, taking the time to explain the menu and happily tailoring dishes to suit our tastes and preferences. The food itself was outstanding - beautifully presented, so much flavour, and clearly made with care and fresh ingredients. Each dish was perfectly balanced, and you could really taste the quality. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere created by the lovely team. Their kindness and hospitality made the whole experience feel extra special. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough!”
