About Kashmir Restaurant
Kashmir Restaurant is an Indian restaurant and takeaway on Stanpit in Christchurch, set up for both sit-down meals and collection. The menu leans heavily on vegetarian and vegan choices, with around half the dishes available to vegans, alongside Kashmiri house specials, biryanis including a King Prawn version, and poppadoms to start. Customer Review Summary
Diners call this the best Indian takeaway in the area, repeatedly citing the vegetarian and vegan range, with one long-time vegan noting half the menu suits them. The King Prawn biryani drew a complaint for skimpy prawns, and one order arrived late with missing items, though staff quickly redelivered. Most return for the flavour.

“Ordered via Uber, usually great quality food, most of our order was fine except for the King Prawn biryani which only had traces of prawn in it. Took over 90 minutes to arrive, missed the delivery time twice”

“Best Indian takeaway I've had in ages. Can't believe I've lived in the area for 6 years without knowing about this place. Absolutely amazing that half the menu is vegan! Great portion sizes, and each dish I've tried has actually been unique and delicious. Can't recommend enough, especially if you're a vegan craving a good curry.”

“Good food but they could tell you that the poppadoms don't come with any sauces. What's the point in having poppadoms without sauces.”

“We ordered a takeaway this evening, and although a slight mistake with the order-(a couple of bits were missing) I phoned the restaurant and the driver had the bits back to us in literally minutes! The restaurant were extremely helpful and deserve a five star as the food was delicious!! We will definitely eat here again. 10/10 as the way everything was resolved speaks volumes and top marks for the polite driver and for getting us the food piping hot👍👍”

“Best Indian food I've ever had. Hands down. I travel with work and eat in restaurants all over the country. This was by far the best Indian food I've ever eaten, and it was also the cheapest. This place deserves a larger restaurant.”
