Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the Nepalese-leaning cooking, with the Thali set singled out for its rich flavours and use of ghee. Close behind are the starters and curries: Kabab and Tikka starters, Welsh lamb strips, meat samosas, the Lababdar curry, the Korma, a chicken dish stuffed with spinach and mashed potato, and lamb biryani. The chutneys served with the papadoms, one described as a house specialty, also draw praise, as do the lime and rose cheesecake and the strawberry and raspberry sorbet. Service is repeatedly called attentive and excellent, and one reviewer says the kitchen handled a partner's peanut allergy without fuss. Another calls the portions generous and the value good. The one real complaint comes from a diner who loved the lamb shank, monk fish and chicken but waited a long time for the momos and then another hour for mains. That reviewer wanted drinks taken off the bill, free starters while waiting, or the service charge removed. One diner closes by describing walking down the hill after Kingfisher beer.

“Delicious Food and Excellent Service I really enjoyed this restaurant. It’s a spacious and warm place, beautifully set up, with elegant tableware and cutlery. The food is absolutely delicious — fresh, high‑quality and clearly made on the spot. Portions are generous and everything comes out with great flavour. The service is a delight: kind, attentive and very professional. Overall, a wonderful experience and a place I would happily return to.”

“The food was fantastic and flavours very nice, we tried the lamb shank, monk fish, chicken and momos. Unfortunately, after a long wait for the momos, it was another hour before our mains came out. If they had taken some drinks off the bill, given us some starters while we waited or taken the service off (something!) I would have still given it 5 stars, a shame.”

“Don't miss this experience. The service and the food is top class. All of the faithful favourites are on the menu, but there were some dishes that are not usually offered in most Indian restaurants in the UK. We can recommend the Kabab and Tikka starters and the Lababdar Curry (my new favourite dish) and the Korma. Also highly recommend trying the cutneys that come with the Papadoms, they are fresh and delicious and one of the chutneys is a secret house specialty - which I demolished - so good! Oh, and don't forget dessert. Recommend the lime and rose cheesecake and the strawberry and rasberry sorbet! Parking is easy at Bournemouth Avenue Car Park. Walk up the hill past the Tiangle to get to the restaurant, and more importantly, down the hill when you are full of excellent food and Kingfisher beer.”

“Had a lovely meal whilst visiting Bournemouth for a short holiday. Service was attentive, food was superb and I thought good value for money. Had tasty meat samosas (3 in a portion) as starter followed by lamb biryani (as pictured). Definitely worth a visit.”
