About Scotts Richmond
Scotts Richmond is a seafood-focused restaurant on the Thames in Richmond, at 4 Whittaker Ave. It opened in Autumn 2022 as the first expansion of Scott's of Mount Street, Mayfair, which gives the Mayfair restaurant a second site on the river. The menu includes the Scotts fish pie, and a set lunch is offered for those who want a shorter meal. Tables in the dining area overlook the river Thames. Live music runs at the restaurant, including a jazz and Motown night on Wednesdays. A doorman greets guests at the door, and walk-ins are seated without a reservation.
Good to know
“The opening of Scott’s Richmond in Autumn 2022 marks the beginning of a new chapter. Scott’s of Mount Street, Mayfair, has defined London dining through countless changing decades and has a sparkling, storied past that is the stuff of local legend. Now it is expanding into a new location for the first time, the scene is set for a decadent new narrative. Sited on a westward meander of the Thames, some 15 winding river miles upstream of central London, Richmond has a history and magic all its own. Roaring into the town in a burst of champagne fizz, Scott’s will shake up its new riverside setting with a cocktail of old-world elegance and glamorous destination dining”

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the seafood and the table overlooking the Thames, with the fish pie, Chalkstream trout tartare, burrata salad and mashed potatoes named as highlights, and the apple pie and chocolate mousse among desserts. Close behind is the service, which several describe as friendly and attentive, with the doorman's greeting mentioned more than once. The live music on Wednesday nights and the decor also draw praise. Portions are the recurring complaint: reviewers call them small, and one who ordered a risotto and a roast suggests adding a side, while another finds the food good but expensive for the size. One reviewer wanted more warmth from staff. A single dissatisfied diner describes overly buttery, greasy sauces, overcooked fish, a dirty bathroom and a waiter who was arrogant and moody after dessert was declined. Several celebrating birthdays or an anniversary mention the best table or a thoughtful anniversary treat.

“A beautiful, chic, and elegant restaurant situated in Richmond. We went there for my birthday and given the best table. The service from the moment we were greeted at the door till we left was impeccable. The atmosphere needs no explaining, and their seafood options are plenty. Will definitely visit again! 💚”

“Scott’s was such a lovely dinning experience. The food was amazing, the seafood was very fresh and the mashed potatoes were the best I’ve had! The atmosphere and ambiance was incredible, with live music and very friendly staff. “A spontaneous lunch booking here on Easter Monday with friends turned out to be one of the most fantastic lunches I’ve had for a long time. We were warmly greeted and shown to a beautiful table overlooking the river, made even more beautiful by the unusually warm and sunny weather. The staff were brilliant, all of them, which is rare imo. They’d obviously checked my notes and I was offered gluten free bread as soon as I sat down. A small detail but it always impresses me when a restaurant does this. Our drinks arrived promptly and our waitress went through the specials and we ordered a very good selection of dishes between us. I think I managed to try everyone else’s lunch without actually having to share mine which is always a bonus. The food was delicious, fresh, well seasoned, perfectly cooked, I want to go back soon, very soon. If you get the chance to eat here, grab it.”
