Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return to the setting on the river, with its Thames views, and the brunch served on the boat. Shakshuka is the dish named most, with one diner praising it alongside charcoal toast for dipping and blueberry pancakes, while another received overdone eggs and had a fresh plate made after an apology. Pea hummus with flatbread is singled out as one diner's highlight, and a pint is mentioned by two. Service draws steady praise as friendly and attentive, including a manager who found a table for a family of four on a busy Father's Day, and heaters and blankets on a cold day outside. The complaints are specific. One reviewer describes a slow, lukewarm "Healthy Start" brunch with cold tofu that tasted gritty with turmeric, and was not charged for the extra toast. Another reports seeing a mouse near their table and flies around their food, and staff moved them to another seat. Others mention a queue for the toilets, a slamming door and a confusing menu.

“We had the most excellent brunch at Peggy’s today, beautiful venue on the river. Also what topped it even more was the excellent service from a young lady, called Amber who made our visit to Peggy’s so memorable. We were genuinely surprised to hear it was her first day because she carried herself with so much confidence, warmth, and professionalism, it honestly felt like she’s been working there for years. We were a group of four seated right at the end of the barge she was very patient and attentive with us and she made us feel looked after from start to finish. When my shakshuka arrived, the eggs were overdone. Amber sincerely apologised on behalf of the restaurant and explained that they pride themselves on serving great eggs. Without hesitation, she arranged for a fresh plate to be made, she handled the situation very well. 10/10 for Amber. I have no doubt she will thrive and be incredibly successful in her future. Thank you for making our brunch such a lovely experience!”

“Gorgeous restaurant with lovely views. Only concern was that I did see a mouse near the area we were sat but staff moved us to a different seat, but even in that area there were 2/3 flies consistently flying infront of our faces and food. Didn’t feel the most clean with all the insects + the rodent I saw. Other than that, the food came promptly and was very filling! Different feel”

“We visited Peggy Jean in Richmond for a Father's Day breakfast, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. The setting is lovely, with the restaurant's location on the boat creating a unique atmosphere right on the river. It was extremely busy when we arrived, which is always a good sign, and there was a great buzz throughout the venue. The food was good and exactly what you'd expect from a quality breakfast/brunch menu. While the food itself was enjoyable, the standout part of our visit was the service. A special mention goes to Alicia, the manager, who went above and beyond to help us. Despite how busy the restaurant was, she managed to find a table for four so that my wife and daughters could treat me to a Father's Day celebration together. Her professionalism, calm approach and willingness to help made a real difference to our visit. Thank you, Alicia, for making our family breakfast possible and helping create a memorable Father's Day.”
