Customer Review Summary
Roast dinners draw the most praise at this family-run pub. Reviewers describe melt-in-the-mouth beef at an Easter lunch, a hot, tasty cooked dinner with a decent gravy boat and plenty of veg, and one calls it among the best roasts in the area. Lamb is called delicious close behind, and a party of eight who each ordered something different all enjoyed their meals. Reviewers also mention a fantastic buffet at a birthday party, friendly and helpful staff, a lovely atmosphere, and a dog-friendly welcome with free treats. The complaints are sharper and not isolated. One reviewer describes a fish finger tiger cob with three tiny pieces of fish, undercooked chips, leathery roast beef and a rubbery Yorkshire pudding, and says the bar team agreed the quality was poor before offering a 10% discount. Another reports cold food after a very long wait, with staff who seemed not bothered, on a third disappointing visit. A third felt abandoned at the table. One Easter bill came with a crème egg for everyone in the party.

“My family and I waited one hour and twenty minutes for our meals. When they arrived the food was cold and service was diabolical. The staff were not bothered and I can categorically say, that we will never eat there again. For reference, this was the third time we have been disappointed. Please be aware!”

“Great pub restaurant with a lot of choice on the menu. The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were a party of 8 and we all ate different meals and we all thoroughly enjoyed our choice. Would definitely recommend.”

“Had a wonderful Easter lunch, the beef was melt in the mouth and my husband was extremely pleased to see lamb on the menu, which he said was delicious. They had lots of Easter specials and a really lovely touch with our bill was a crème egg for everyone in the party. Great service as always.”
