“I almost don’t want to write this review, as it feels like I’d be giving away one of Plymouth’s best-kept secrets—but not doing so would be an injustice to the staff and the establishment. Myself and a group of friends came across this pub while walking around the harbour looking for somewhere to eat. As you’d expect, everywhere was busy—it was the first hot week of the year and people were out making the most of it. Out of all the places we stopped for a drink, this one stood out straight away as the most comfortable and relaxed environment. There’s a great selection of drinks on tap, not just the usual mainstream options, and the food offering is just as impressive. Initially, there wasn’t enough space to seat us for dinner, but with a bit of rearranging, the staff kindly managed to fit us in for an early sitting—which actually made the whole experience even better. The food was excellent—easily one of the best meals I’ve had in quite some time—so full credit to the kitchen team, along with the rest of the staff who made the evening so enjoyable. If I’m back in the area, this will be the first place I visit. It’s absolutely a spot worth your time and money.”
