  “We went for their BBQ & live band (the vibes)! It was a hot day and the staff were so lovely and working so hard. The owners should be proud of their staff for sure! The food was great and excellent value for money. Thanks for a lovely evening”

  “I have visited the Elburton many times over the last few decades and have always enjoyed my experience. However, on my visit yesterday, I was a little surprised by the cost of what felt like a relatively modest order compared with some of the other menu items. We ordered two bowls of chips (£9), one garlic bread (£4.95), and two pints of bitter shandy (£9.05), bringing the total to £23. I fully appreciate the challenges facing the hospitality industry and understand that businesses have had to absorb significant increases in operating costs. However, the pricing did seem rather steep to me, especially when a full curry meal is available for £9.95. It feels as though many hospitality businesses are caught in a difficult cycle: rising costs force prices up, customers end up paying more, and some choose to eat out less often as a result. In turn, venues can lose valuable repeat business, which ultimately harms the industry they are trying to sustain. This is certainly one of the reasons why I, and many others, now eat out less frequently and order fewer takeaways than we once did. That said, the chips were excellent, the garlic bread was awful, and the bitter shandy was particularly welcome on a hot day. Individually, the prices may not seem excessive, but collectively £23 felt like quite a lot for what we ordered.”

  “I drove past this pub after a very long day, so I dropped in for some dinner on my own. The staff were very friendly and quick to serve me and the food was really nice and reasonably priced.”

  “We went for Sunday Lunch and thought all the food on the plate was good quality, and well cooked. We both had beef and really enjoyed all of it! The service from the young staff was friendly and efficient. The overall atmosphere in the pub was relaxed, with some good music in the background. A very good experience, in a lovely old building.”

  “Very impressed with the service, food & atmosphere 🥰. Food was quick after ordering, plates & food were hot. Meat, potatoes & Yorkshire puddings were served on the plate,veg & gravy was bought out separately for all to share, meat was cooked to perfection & the gravy excellent 👍🏻 (even asked for more), also ordered cauliflower cheese as an extra. We also ordered the steak - ale pie with chips & peas, was delicious, filled to the brim & pastry was light & fluffy, can't go wrong with that if you don't fancy the roast ! ☺️. The menu was easy to read, a very selective menu. The bar staff & waitresses very friendly. Will most definitely be going again.”

  “I think this roast is quite possibly THE best roast I've eaten (apart from my home cooked 🤪) The meat was delicious, the Yorkshire pudding was epic, the veg was delightful and the portions were huge. The service was excellent, happy ladies w9th big smiles. Its the first time I've been even though its literally only a short walk from my house, I really don't know why its taken me so long to visit but I will ceeta8nly be back soon ❤️”

  “It took a very long time for the food to be served, only to come lukewarm out of the kitchen. The burgers were burnt and really dry. We saw other food being served that looked quite good, but unfortunately ours was not nice.”

  “From the moment I walked in, it was very clean and tidy. It was quite busy there with a lot of people there for Sunday lunch but it was very comfortable inside. We both had the mixed meat roast dinner and it was fantastic. The beef was really nicely done. The staff were very attentive and enthusiastic. And they were all really good looking. Even the bloke behind the bar was really handsome. I had a really nice time, definitely coming back here again”

  “Our first visit to this superb establishment. The staff are absolutely wonderful, friendly, attentive and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We were shown to our seats in a quiet area with plenty of space. We chose a roast turkey and roast beef Sunday lunch and weren't disappointed. The roast potatoes were crispy and tasty, along with a delicious Yorkshire pudding, tender and moist meat and to top it all, a large jug of beautiful gravy. We had an assortment of 7 veg in a separate serving dish, sublime! Once we'd demolished this we pushed ourselves and our stomachs to accommodate a pud too. We had chocolate and caramel profiteroles with cream and raspberry and prosecco cheesecake which were both delicious. All at a very reasonable price. Thank you Elburton staff, you've made our day and we will be back!”
