Quick info
About The White Swan
The White Swan is a pub in Peterborough, housed in an 18th-century stone building at 22 Main St. The kitchen works from a large menu that draws on dishes from several countries. It includes a hanging kebab, with a chicken and chorizo version, alongside sizzler dishes of stir-fried meat and vegetables. Over 75% of the menu is available gluten free, and there is a dedicated vegetarian and vegan selection. Roast dinners are served as well. At the bar, a cask ale sits beside a range of gins and a bottle-of-bubbly list. Dogs are welcome inside the pub, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the hanging kebabs, from a huge triple mixed kebab with juicy meats to a chicken and chorizo version one reviewer's wife called the best chicken kebab she has had. Close behind is the breadth of a menu spanning British, Japanese, Italian and American dishes, with the foot long mozzarella stick, fisherman's basket, sizzler stir fry, Greek gyros, garlic chicken Murgh curry and Sunday roast all named. Friendly staff and a wide drink range, including gins and bubbly, come up repeatedly, and several liked being able to bring their dogs inside. The complaints are mostly practical. One reviewer found the extra charge for parties over six and the per-person deposit for booking illogical, another missed background music, and one found the menu overwhelming. One felt the drinks did not look local and that the pub seems chain-owned rather than village-run. One couple could not choose between the Black Forest cheesecake and the sundae, so they ordered one of each.

“Caters for all food tastes: British, Japanese, Italian, American etc. Menu was a bit overwhelming with all the choices so we asked a staff member for a recommendation. We were thrilled with the stirfry meat and veg sizzler dishes we ordered. Drinks options are huge, although didn't appear local. Feels more like a pub owned by a chain company rather than a local pub in a small village. Very busy for a Wednesday evening which gave it a good atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating too. The alley next door to the pub leads to an amazing park too!”

“What a little gem this place is. Fabulous food and the service was first class. We had a meal on Sunday with our friends and they came down from London, so we decided to visit as was only a couple miles from us. Was not a disappointment and we shall visit again very soon. This time I will take my whole family who will love it. Well done e guys. Thanks for a great meal.”

“The White Swan at Woodnewton is hands down our favourite restaurant to visit. Every time we go, we're welcomed by friendly, helpful staff who are always bubbly, smiling, and make us feel so welcome. The menu is incredible, with an amazing amount of choice, so there's always something new to try. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and packed with flavour, and it's clear that a lot of care goes into every dish. We recommend The White Swan to all of our family and friends, and it has never disappointed. It's one of those places we always look forward to returning to, and we can't wait for our next visit!”

“This place was a brilliant find and jas become a regular place for us to eat. The menu is extensive so spoilt for choice. Food is amazing and portion size is good. Sunday roast is perfect we are working our way through the menu. Not managed to fit a dessert in yet but they look amazing.”

“Incredible food and service. Greek Gyros, Garlic chicken Murgh curry, garlic naan, veg pakoras. A little (large) sweet to balance the taste buds. Black Forest cheesecake and sundae. We couldn’t decide on one or the other. So we had one of each.”
