About The London Inn
On St John's St in Stamford, The London Inn is a pub and gastropub with a menu spanning 92 dishes. Sunday roast comes with Yorkshire puddings and a choice of extra meat slice, with beef, pork, turkey, and lamb all on offer. The wider menu, recently relaunched, includes fish and chips and beef and ale pie alongside a Roast Ham & Cheddar Panini. Seating runs across two floors, and an outdoor area overlooking the square, plus a covered section, gives another option for eating outside. Drinks are ordered at the bar rather than table service, and reservations are recommended given the pub opens daily. A private dining room suits groups, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The step-free entrance allows access for visitors with mobility needs, and those wanting the food off site can order takeaway or delivery.

Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most attention, with several diners calling the Yorkshire puddings and gravy standout elements of a meal enjoyed with family, though one detailed account describes an opposite experience: pale, over-fried potatoes, falling-apart greasy stuffing, hard Yorkshire puddings, tough meat, and only three pieces of calamari for the price. Close behind, the fish and chips get singled out as "proper cod" with good batter, and the beef and ale pie earns repeat praise for its meaty filling. Others mention the masala corn ribs, cooked breakfasts, and coffee with lemon meringue pie and cheesecake on the outdoor terrace. Service is described as friendly and efficient by most, with one waiter specifically praised for keeping a table updated during kitchen delays and offering complimentary drinks after a dish ran late. But a recurring thread of complaints surfaces too: a supervisor's rudeness drove one party to leave for a competitor, a new menu prompted another couple to abandon a visit over pricing and missing favorites, and one reviewer describes rude treatment after mentioning a child's nut allergy.

“Visited here for brunch on one of the hottest days of the year. Place is air conditioned which was absolutely brilliant. Got a lovely welcome from the bar man who told us about the brunch menu and the free drink offer. We ordered two large cooked breakfasts, one small cooked breakfast and a sausage brioche bun. All were excellent. We upgraded the free drink offer for an extra pound and got 4 beers. Unbelievable value. We all ate for £44. They also made our two dogs very welcome and gave them a lovely big bowl of cold water.”

“We went there for a meal and had a good time. The food was excellent, there is a decent menu, priced about right for what you get and the location. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I'm in the area.”

“Had the most lovely Sunday roast here with my wife and parents and we were genuinely blown away from start to finish. The food was absolutely incredible — everything was cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. One of the best roasts we’ve had in a long time! The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and we all had such a great time together. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing roast and fantastic service. We’ll definitely be back soon! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
