Quick info
About Yard of Ale Pub
Yard of Ale Pub is a pub in Peterborough at 72 Oundle Rd, with six real ales on offer, as advertised on a sign outside. The drinks list also covers craft beer, lagers and ciders, so the bar suits both ale drinkers and those who prefer something different. A live band or musician plays on Saturday nights, which makes the weekend a draw for anyone wanting drinks with live music. On match days, a big screen and plenty of TVs show football and rugby. Pizzas are served for anyone wanting food with their drink.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the range of ales, beers and ciders, with one noting six real ales advertised on a sign outside and another listing lager, IPA and traditional options. Close behind is the sports atmosphere, with loads of TVs and a big screen for football and a Wales v France rugby match. Live music on a Saturday night comes up too, alongside pizzas, the large seating area and beer garden out the back, and a friendly local feel with attentive bar staff and welcoming landlords. The criticism is concentrated in a few reviews. One reviewer describes a waitress saying the toilets were for customers only without being asked, then telling them they could not sit in the garden with a beer. Another found two halves of rhubarb and Rosie cider warm from the pump and assumed the cellar cooler was broken. A third called it pricey for what you get, though they found the facilities clean and the Christmas decorations nice. One reviewer who returned after years away says the pub is much improved.

“Very unfriendly service. The minute we came in straight away the waitress said that toilet are for customers only, however we didn't ask for it. Then later when I took a beer and was seating in the garden, she said I can't just seat like that..not welcoming approach at all, if you don't like to be bossed around”

“Just got two Half's from the pump to try rhubarb and Rosie cider and both are warm to touch and drink. I assume celler cooler is broken but all pubs main focus is drinks. Very poor”
