  “Hate to leave a bad review for my local chippy but despite giving feedback on other occasions to the staff I still get overpriced fish and chips which are inconsistently bad, Large Cod, chips and mushy peas for just under £20 food was fresh but the fish was tiny, thin short and narrow, the batter was massive and thick but was not stuck to half the fish so the fish was dry, chips were better than other occasions but could only eat half of them! Seriously considering giving this place a miss in the future or checking and rejecting my food before I get back to work!”

  “Staff were appalling trying to wrap up fish and chips. They just squashed the paper down into fish hoping it would stick. The guy behind me asked what skate tasted like. She hadn’t a clue if it even was a fish. Waited far too long for meal, despite everything I had ordered sitting in warmers. She was adamant to wait until the person in front of me walked away with their food before getting mine ready so just sat on seat doing nothing.”

  “Fish and chips looked realy boring and unappetising. The fish looked like it was bettered in cardboard and tasted the same! The chips some hard some soggy. Not worth the money can get better in town much cheaper. Won't be going back”

  “Had a meal in the restaurant and a takeaway whilst in Paignton. Staff very friendly. Love the fact you can get your fish in batter or breadcrumbs. Would use again.”

  “Had takeaway chips from here as the other chip shop believe it or not “ran out of chips” I wish these guys had as well. Worst chips I’ve ever had hard in the middle barely cooked no flavour. Absolute crap”

  “This was the worst meal from a chip shop ever. Waxy potato’s rather than fluffy. Tasteless fat so chips were bland and were riddled with eyes. I ordered 2 fish cakes which were the smallest examples I have ever seen and one was burnt. My son had a fish and this was tasteless too. The other couple buying at the same time as us had to come back and question the size of their fist as they had ordered a large and what they were given was tiny. Will not be going back there. What a waste of money.”

  “Probably the worst fish and chips we've ever had. Batter was a wierd colour and stodgy, sausages were full of gristle and the pea fritter was unidentifiable. Chips looked and tasted like yesterday's Chips. We threw away more than we ate.”

  “While staying local for a holiday we stopped for some eat in food. The waitress that attended to us was polite and served us quickly.. my partner had a prawn cocktail that was a good size and tasted great, me and my daughter had cod and chips.. the fish was very good quality, very flaky and a good size. chips and sides were also fine. Would recommend and can't fault the place”

  “Used to come here every year whilst on holiday, first time in the area for a while so we had to come and revisit Squires. Pleased to say we weren't disappointed, friendly welcome on arrival. Didnt have to wait long before our waitress took our order, drinks arrived quickly and didnt wait very long for our food. Good size freshly cooked portions , I had Haddock & chips & my wife had Cod & chips We shared a portion of onion rings. It was a good meal. Glad we came back.”
