  “Not much can rouse me to be bothered to do a review these days but this place is special! There are literally hundreds of places to eat in Torbay and we've eaten at most of them, which is why I can say with some certainty that this is the best restaurant food that I've tasted for a long time. Firstly, these people know a thing or 2 about hospitality, which seems to be a rare commodity these days. Very comfortable seats and nice big granite tables & plenty of space, so you don't feel as though you're sat in the neighbouring tables laps. The place has a fresh, luxurious feel but also done very practically with the emphasis on customer comfort. A lot of thought and care has gone into the customer experience, everything is bright, spotless and fresh. Now to the food! We don't really do starters, so I can't comment on them. For main, I had the daily fish special, which was a delicious cut of plaice and one of sole and whoever prepared them knew what they were doing, there was not one bone to be found. Both cuts were thick, juicy and delicious & the accompaniments were better than I've had in many a posh/expensive restaurant. The choice of potatoes was excellent, with dauphinoise, lyonnaise, proper chippy chips & new potatoes & a really lovely, properly dressed salad! I'm very fussy about food being fresh & that I like proper chipped potatoes, not the awful frozen, can't be bothered to peel a potato, rubbish you get in most places these days. We eat good quality food at home, so I'm not going to pay to go out to eat if I don't feel that I'm getting the same. So I was delighted when I saw that the neighbouring table had proper chips on their plates. However, I decided to go for lyonnaise on this occasion (as recommended by Katy) and wasn't disappointed, as they were proper sauteed new potatoes and the caramelised style onions made them truly a joy to eat. The depth of flavours on my plate made the meal a really special experience. Whoever the chef was, he knew which foods to add flavour to and which to leave alone and the lemon beurre blanc sauce was delicious! Him indoors had the monkfish and prawn curry, which I'm happy to report was delicious also, as he let me knick a bit! No words were exchanged between myself and 'his lordship' as we were so busy enjoying every mouthful! Just the occasional "mmm" and "wow!" I was then treated to just about the best sticky toffee pudding that I've ever tasted, topped with homemade lemon cheesecake ice cream. Himself had a berry crumble with strawberry cheesecake ice cream on top. The bit I tried was lovely. The whole experience was perfect from start to finish. From first arrival we were greeted with a big smile from the lovely Katy, who made our experience extra special, as she really went out of her way to make sure that we enjoyed our meal. I can honestly say that nothing was too much trouble & her recommendations were spot on. Enjoyed it so much that we've booked to go again next week and I'm sure it will be top of our favourite restaurant list for a long time to come! We weren't expecting much when we first arrived as it's on a fairly busy road but once you go through the front door the ambience soon makes you forget this. The lighting, the comfy seating & the low level atmospheric music was all very welcoming and relaxing. Can't wait for next week! 😁”

  “We were out tonight for a bit of dinner trying out a New Paignton Resturant serving locally sourced fish, meats and drinks . Its Fab 👍😋😀 The meal here was lovely with amazing fish cookery - we had skate wings for our mains Yvonne had the most amazing massive prawns as a starter and I had some lovely sweet scallops all lubricated with a great bottle of local wine With friendly un rushed service in a lovely venue; this is truly a keeper Please support it 👏👏👏”

  “Where do I start, we’ve been coming here for years as a family as the takeaway fish and chips is the best in the bay, really nice to see Roy grow and move next door, we’ve been 3 times to the restaurant and each has been incredible the food is exceptional and Katie Roy’s daughter the manager is the friendliest host very welcoming and knows how to help choose what you want! Each time we’ve gone it’s been really fun time out! Couldn’t recommend it more!”
