About Greens Cafe
Greens Cafe is a coffee shop in the city centre of Oxford, on New Inn Hall St, and it opens daily. The counter displays cakes and other desserts beside savoury food, and the range of vegan and gluten-free cakes is wide. Most sandwiches can also be made gluten-free, so guests avoiding gluten have choices beyond the cake case. Toasted sourdough sandwiches and paninis share the menu with jacket potatoes, pasta and salads, including a homemade falafel salad for vegetarians. Açai bowls let customers pick from a variety of ingredients, and matcha drinks and smoothies cover the cold side of the drinks list. A loyalty program is available to regulars.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the food, with the açai bowls named repeatedly alongside the paninis, pastas, and a Lotus waffle. Others mention a homemade falafel salad, a passion fruit smoothie, and a granola one reviewer ranks among the best in Oxford. Staff come up again and again as friendly, and several describe the place as clean and relaxed, with comfortable seating where nobody feels rushed. One reviewer notes the student discount and loyalty program. The matcha splits opinion: one calls it excellent, while another found it murky green, unexpectedly sweet, and of seemingly lower quality. A critical reviewer found the coffee average, the interior cold and cramped, and the loud thumping music out of place, and was left with only muffins when wanting cake. That reviewer also had to fetch sugar from the counter personally. In a happier moment, one couple's hot chocolates had the marshmallows put on the cream by mistake, and the server remade the drinks straight away with no fuss.

“We had a lovely breakfast here. The food was fresh, tasty, and well presented, and the matcha was excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Great value for money—we'll definitely visit again!”

“I visit coffee shops regularly and check reviews beforehand. I don't understand the hype around this place. The interior feels rather cold; it’s not cozy, and there isn't much space. I ordered a coffee that, in my opinion, was just average. No sugar was served with the cup—I had to get up and grab it myself. I wanted to order cake, but there was nothing worthwhile—just muffins and nothing else of note. The music started thumping loudly; I don't know what it was, but it certainly wasn't the kind of normal background music that creates a pleasant atmosphere. In my opinion, it’s a one-time visit kind of place—not somewhere you go back to. I certainly don't plan to”

“Greens Cafe was out to-go place for our breakfast and afternoon tea stops over the 5 days we spent in Oxford as a family of three. Food was delicious and portions were satisfactory. We specifically loved the Açai bowls, paninis and smoothies. Staff is friendly and attentive. Perfect location at the heart of the town.”
