Customer Review Summary

Papri chaat is the most frequent draw, called tasty, fresh and flavoursome, and a spinach and potato chaat is praised for its textures and generous portion. Samosas come close behind, with the vegetable samosas singled out and one reviewer ordering 200 for a charity event. Butter chicken and lamb curry also earn praise, and staff are repeatedly described as friendly and helpful. The complaints are specific. One reviewer describes a takeaway of cold, greasy chilli chicken and chilli paneer and a papri chaat that was mostly cold boiled potatoes, and suspects leftovers. Others found the Asian sweets dry and the chocolate samosas bitter and stale, and one was told the fish curry listed on the website was only served at the city centre branch. A regular describes stopping in for the usual aloo baingan and samosas, then chatting with a server who explained the Rakhi threads on sale.

“Definitely come to the Hyson Green branch if you want great service! We've been to a few of the other branches before but the service here really stood out. Went in this morning to grab our usual aloo baingan and samosas and the guy serving us was so friendly. Didn't manage to catch his name unfortunately, but we had a really nice chat. He recommended a few sweets for us to try and also told us about the Rakhi threads they were selling, what they mean and the festival coming up. Actually ended up learning something new which was nice 😂 would definitely recommend the Hyson Green branch and we'll be back for sure!”

“We've been a couple of times for Papri chaat and samosas. The chaat is really tasty and was fresh. We recently tried the sweet meats/asian desserts but they were dry- I dont think they sell enough for it to be fresh so I wouldn't buy these again and would recommend to the owners to stick to the savoury foods. We also tried a selection of their chocolate samosas . I'm sorry but they were really horrible. They had a really bitter stale spice taste- I threw them away. We will return for the chaat and samosas and may try other savoury items but not their sweet stuff. The gentlemen and young lady that served us were polite and helpful.”

“Ordered 200 veg samosas for a charity event, and the feedback has been amazing, absolutely delicious samosas! Nav has been brilliant with the order process, and collection from the Carrington Street branch was easy. I would definitely recommend the samosas and the service. 5*”

“Really nice food, they didn't have my 1st choice however what I did have was delicious. So if you fancy spinach and potato chaat then get it from here. Lots of flavours, lots of textures and a really good size portion. I had the small and it was perfect but beware the large is massive!!!!!”
