Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come above all for the 100% gluten-free menu, which coeliac diners say they can trust, and the sausage rolls are the item named most often, with one reviewer calling them the first excellent one in a long time. Cakes sit close behind, praised for their variety, with the carrot cake, the apple crumble and a kinder cookie singled out by name. Others mention scotch eggs and a black forest hot chocolate that came as a pleasant surprise, and one reviewer took home frozen rolls after finding good bread hard to come by. A non-coeliac partner reportedly could not tell the food was gluten free. Several describe the space as small, cosy and homely, with sofas, and a few mention the owner's effort and the lovely staff. Dogs are welcome, and one visitor was given a dog treat. No reviewer raises a complaint. Some also point to a mini shop selling local gluten-free items such as soap bars and jewellery, and one reviewer notes the menu changes every day.

“Lovely coeliac-friendly cafe! The black forest hot chocolate were such a pleasantly delicious surprise. The carrot cake was also so yummy and very affordable too!”

“We visited on a Saturday, as a convenient meeting place for family. There was a great selection of gluten free treats along with delicious coffee. It is small, however its homely and cosy with the sofas. We would definitely use again, and dogs are welcome so that was also a bonus. Thank you for the dog treat. 🐕”

“Came in because we had driven past and saw the sign a few days ago, as a Coeliac its always a risk going somewhere that claims to have gluten free as they are not always Coeliac safe, so seeing the 100% safe sign and the knowledge of the lady working was fantastic. Were greeted and ordered a sausage roll, coffee, tea and a cake. All was very enjoyable and when we left i bought some of the frozen rolls to bring home. Its really hard to find good bread and these rolls are it, absolutely delicious and will be coming back for more!”

“Looking for a 100% gluten-free café in Nottingham? 🌿✨ Brew and Bakes is the place to be! It’s a cute little coffee shop just outside the city centre, super cosy and perfect if you’re a book lover 📚💛. Oh, and they even have a mini shop where you can grab gluten-free soap bars—how cool is that?! 🧼☕ You’re welcome to bring your pet—just let the shop owner know first so she can make sure her own fur baby is safe. 🐾”

“Absolutely love this place! The savoury and sweet treats are always so delicious! My non coeliac boyfriend also loves the food and can’t even tell it’s GF. The service is always great and the owner puts a lot of effort in to making it a great experience for coeliacs.”
