About 200 Degrees Coffee Shop

200 Degrees Coffee Shop is a coffee shop at 99 Carrington St. in Nottingham, next to the train station, where a live display shows train times. The business is a specialist roaster that also runs barista schools, and it roasts its coffee at around 200 degrees Centigrade, which gives the company its name and aims for a smooth, less bitter cup. The drinks include an oat flat white, and the pastries and bakes include pain aux raisin and a honey nut crunch slice. Orders are placed at the counter, with one person on the till and another making the coffee, or from a table through the café's app. The shop is open daily and belongs to a group with several branches across Nottingham.

Customer Review Summary

Coffee is the draw most reviewers return to, with several calling it great or delicious and one singling out an oat flat white as lovely. Pastries and sweets earn praise too, including a pain aux raisin and a Honey Nut Crunch slice, while a sausage and camembert bagel was called not bad but nothing special. Fans mention friendly staff, a relaxed and cosy feel, and a live display of train times. The recurring complaint is slow service when one person makes the coffee and another works the till. Several reviewers say this left them waiting long enough to miss a bus or leave without a drink, a problem they link to the café's spot beside the train station. One reviewer describes flies circling an uncleared plate, tables slow to be cleared and a spillage behind the counter, and another found a server rude when asking about an NHS discount. One reviewer who left without a drink was kindly given free coffee vouchers by the till staff.

“Lovely coffee shop with a relaxed vibe and super friendly staff. Great tasting coffee too. Better than a generic brand of coffee shop”

“Extremly and painfully slow service by the barista. The person at the till was quick to process my order, however the one making the cofee was extremly slow. Coffee there is great (food not so much) but i would think they need to be speedy being next to a train station when people have to make it to their trains. I left without my coffee, the oerson at the till kindly gave me free cofee vouchers which I appreciate.”

“Visited in May 2026 👌🏼 dined in and got takeaway - such a lovely coffee shop. I had an oat flat white which was lovely. Also tried a pain aux raisin which was delicious. To Tried a new Honey Nut Crunch slice, this was heavenly! Lovely and friendly staff would go back again 😍”

“Really disappointing. Popped in for a coffee before our train. 1 member of staff making coffee. I serving pastries and on till. The drinks took well over 10 minutes to arrive whilst we waited and watched the flies circling the uncleared plate on the table next to us. When the coffee did arrive it was delicious but the experience was not good overall. Customers were clearing other people's cups which the staff member not servng coffee could easily have done. Been here lots of times before and never had this experience.”

“Specialist coffee roasters and proprietors of distinctive coffee shops & barista schools. We roast our coffee at around 200 degrees Centigrade giving it a smooth taste, less bitterness and a very simple name for the company. Enjoy your cup”
