About The Roebuck Inn - JD Wetherspoon

The Roebuck Inn is a JD Wetherspoon pub in Nottingham, set down a side street on St James's St behind an exterior that looks like an office. Inside, the red-brick rooms have high ceilings and original features, and there are several seating areas, including spaces upstairs. The menu runs to 79 dishes, with an English breakfast of black pudding and hash browns served alongside sticky Korean chicken. Real ales are on the bar, with Ruddles on the list. Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most praise here, with reviewers singling out a bacon butty, black pudding and hash browns from an English breakfast, plus a decent coffee. Close behind are friendly staff and quick service, with several noting that food and drinks arrive fast even when the pub is busy, and a few calling it good value. Other dishes get mentions too, including a Mother's Day lunch with good portions and one reviewer's recommendation of the sticky Korean chicken. The complaints are smaller but specific. At one brunch the toast was a little dry and the egg overcooked, and a lasagne lost its heat quickly on a cold plate. Some find it noisy and crowded, and one reviewer says it suits groups but not romantic outings or kids. Another reports a wrong order and an attitude from a staff member when they questioned the cost. Several describe the inside as lovely despite a plain exterior down a side street, and one notes food arriving quickly through order and pay.

“First time here for breakfast. Just had a bacon butty which was delicious and a decent coffee. Staff were friendly and served me really quickly. The pub doesn't look much from the outside but inside is really quite pretty.”

“Visited this venue yesterday usually good bar service but on this occasion the young lady not only got the order wrong but also had attitude when I questioned the cost? Which I think a paying customer is entitled to do so.”

“A traditional English pub, among the cheaper ones, as I was told. There aren't many things on the menu, but the food was tasty. The beer was good as well. The atmosphere was ok and people are friendly. it was a bit noisy, but I guess that's normal for such pubs.”

“We've been a few times over the past few months. I think this place is a bit of a hidden gem. We have visited for breakfast/ lunch and dinner at different points of the year and every time we'be gone it's been a nice experience. We go as family of 4 with two veggies in our group. Everyone always leaves feeling satisfied, price is great and staff and service always is top notch. The place is always clean and tidy and tables are flipped for new customers in no time. Staff always seem happy friendly and helpful. Drinks come out quick and food comes out quick”
