About The Red Lion
The Red Lion is a country-style village pub at 134 Church Ln in Nottingham, where very low beams run through the room. Several beers are on tap at the bar. The kitchen serves homemade food, including a Beef and Guinness pie with mash, vegetables and gravy. Steak is also on the menu, with a rib-eye and a second steak served with onion rings, Stilton sauce and chips. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring their pets along when they visit.

Customer Review Summary
Steak draws the most praise at this village pub, from a rib-eye one diner calls one of the best they have eaten to a steak with onion rings and Stilton sauce. Close behind are a homemade beef and Guinness pie, a lasagne one reviewer calls the best in the world, and burgers and pizza that another party describes as fresh and tasty. Reviewers repeatedly mention friendly staff, good portion sizes and beers on tap, and a few note the low beams, outdoor seating and children's play area. Complaints are fewer but specific. One family said a pork burger arrived without the burger, the garlic mushrooms were breaded unlike the menu, the meals went uneaten, and a manager shouted about the bill in front of other customers. Another diner found the cauliflower cheese a watery sauce and the Yorkshire pudding burnt and reheated. One couple recalls the owner asking before their booking whether to order in rib-eye steaks, then remembering them on arrival.

“Fantastic village pub, with the food actually feeling authentic and not with that chain/industrial taste. Service excellent, very competitively priced too. Unfortunately these really cared for pubs are a dying breed.”

“Brilliant village pub with amazing staff, everyone’s so kind and welcoming. The food is unbeaten and I will not hear otherwise, to have a pub like this on my doorstep at like £13 for the best lasagne in the entire world is a blessing. Brilliant birthday meal for my 24th, fabulous food and great atmosphere. 10/10 all round.”
