Quick info
About Tuck & Tanner
Tuck & Tanner is a pub in Nottingham that donates 1p from every main meal ordered to charity, so each main course carries a small gift with it. Food comes from a dedicated pizza kitchen, with an ice cream station for dessert. The menu also lists a burger, steak and sausage and mash. The bar pours cask ale and craft beers, and it also makes cocktails and coffee. Seating is sit-anywhere, with no host at the door, and orders are placed at the counter. The pub is open daily and serves meals on Sunday night.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out a warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, with several crediting the new landlords for turning around the pub's past reputation and describing it as clean, well run and full of community. Food draws praise too, with generous portions, plenty of flavour, dishes arriving hot and fresh, and meals cooked to perfection. Two travellers enjoyed their lunch and a sneaky dessert. Drinks are described as well kept and quick to arrive. The kitchen draws the sharpest complaints. One diner reports a medium steak that was dry and hard, and a waitress who knocked over their drink without replacing it. Another had to send back an overcooked sausage and mash, then an undercooked burger, and says the server insisted it was just beef while huffing as she cleared the plates. One reviewer found the food average and noted there was no host to greet or seat them. In that same account, both replacement meals came back out with no apology.

“What an absolute gem of a pub! From the moment you walk through the door, you're made to feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and exactly what a great local pub should be. The landlords are simply amazing — incredibly welcoming, hardworking, and always go out of their way to make sure everyone has a fantastic experience. Their passion for the pub shines through in every detail, from the excellent service to the friendly community atmosphere they've created. The drinks are always well kept, the pub is spotless, and there's a real sense of belonging that keeps people coming back. Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time, you'll be treated like an old friend. A huge credit to the landlords for creating such a wonderful place. Easily one of the best pubs around, and I can't recommend it highly enough! I believe their names are Grant and Sean. Thank so much”

“After living in the area for over 25 years, I finally decided to give The Tuck & Tanner a try. I’ll admit I’d always avoided it because of its reputation, but what a difference the new landlords have made. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and friendly. The pub feels clean, well run and has a real sense of community about it. It’s clear that the new management have put a lot of effort into turning the place around, and it really shows. The service was excellent, and the overall experience completely changed my opinion of the pub. It’s great to see a local venue being given a new lease of life, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others who, like me, may have been put off by its past. Credit to the new landlords, they’ve done a fantastic job. I’ll definitely be returning.”

“Had a fantastic visit to The Tuck and Tanner and couldn’t fault a thing. The food was exceptional, with generous portions and plenty of flavour in every dish. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared, making it one of the best pub meals I’ve had in a long time. What really stood out was the level of service. The team were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our visit, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and it was clear they genuinely care about their customers. The pub itself has a great atmosphere—comfortable, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying a meal or drinks with friends and family. The Tuck and Tanner is a real gem, and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for excellent food, outstanding service, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.”

“The Tuck & Tanner in Nottingham is the king of local pubs! Prepare to be wowed. We’ve got a bunch of features that will keep you coming back for more. Like a dedicated pizza kitchen, ice cream station, a stylish patio and beer garden, and a bar that does everything from craft beers to cocktails and coffee. Nothing makes you feel good quite like being generous. Well, except maybe a super smooth cask ale and a whacking great burger! But when you can give back and eat and drink your fill? That’s magic. We donate 1p from every main meal ordered to charity. Enjoy your favourite things and spread the love.”
