About Copper Beech
On Alex Moorhouse Way in Norwich, Copper Beech is a pub built around an all-day, every-day carvery, with vegetarian sausage substitutes available alongside the roast. The wider menu runs to 79 dishes, including mozzarella and cheddar bites, buttermilk chicken strips and popcorn chicken, and a gluten free selection. Families with young children can use the indoor and outdoor play area, and a pool table sits inside for anyone looking to play a game. Seating spans a large bar area, an outdoor patio, and covered seating pods for outdoor dining in cooler weather. A step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs, and free parking includes disabled spaces. Table service runs throughout the meal, and no booking is needed for a regular visit, though groups can arrange a carvery booking ahead. The pub also runs a quiz night and opens daily.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is the clear draw at Copper Beech, with reviewers repeatedly praising the meat, veg and trimmings, and several noting they return specifically for it, including vegetarian sausage options and a child's plate. Loaded fries, particularly the pulled pork version, and the cowboy burger also draw repeat mentions, alongside the buttermilk chicken strips and popcorn chicken. Staff are frequently called friendly and accommodating, with one party praising how a birthday cake was looked after behind the bar. However, a recurring caveat concerns carvery timing and portions: one reviewer was refused vegetables after being told service had ended, another found the meat portion too small, and hard Yorkshire puddings or roast potatoes come up more than once. Several also describe kitchen mishaps, including a burnt burger that led to a refund, fish described as out of a box rather than fresh battered, and an overcooked, dry fish and chips. One diner recounts a poor experience with an unhelpful reply from head office after a disputed roast dinner. Resolutions when offered, such as replacement dishes or refunds, are noted as reassuring by some, though not always felt sufficient by others.

“Came with a friend from London terrible roast dinner, i just had to give my feedback. Roast beef it was the end of a joint thd new one was next to it. But the server insisted he had to give me 2 bits of the chewy ends! Roast potatoes were hard and cold, smash very little left , gravey congilled and cold! Horrible dinner and not cheap, i notice the you g lady in front of me had not only turkey but was given 4 bits of beef as well! What was going on there whilst I was given 2 hard ends of beef! I would like reply as to the pubs policies? I had a response from Marstons to reach out directly yo them and they provided an email address. I have emailed them twice now, ive had no reply just ignored! Shameful I won't be visiting thus pub for food anytime soon. So changing my review scores for not bring genuine !”

“We were so impressed with the how accommodating the staff were, we had our dog with us and we were a party of 8, I did book as it was my niece's birthday. They took the cake and candles behind the bar. The food was exceptional. They brought the cake out with the candles lit when asked and even plates and knife to cut the cake. The only complaint was it was soooooo hot, the doors were open and a lot of flies were coming in, would have been more comfortable with the doors shut and the air con on.”

“I recently came in for a Sunday carvery and was disappointed to see that the beef quality was less than satisfactory, however this issue was rectified by our waitress “Dom” as she offered us an extra carve of meat or a desert. Although we declined this offer it was nice to see that the customer service is working well.”
