Customer Review Summary
The complaints are serious and recur around delivery. Some describe waits of an hour and a half to three hours, with food arriving cold or lukewarm and phone calls getting only word that the driver had left. Others found the food below average: salt and pepper squid too salty, egg fried rice with lumps of plain rice, soggy sesame prawn toast, and dry, overcooked dishes. One reviewer reports finding a dead fly in a delivered dish and was offered a refund for that dish only.

“The best chinese in Newton. All the staff are so friendly, kind & give excellent service. If there's ever a problem they resolve it. Food is alway's great! Delivery is alway's quick & knock quietly because I have a child & dog! Such lovely people that work there. I've been a customer for a long time & would never go anywhere else.”

“Delivery was fast which was good as I couldn't find how to track the delivery. My opinion on the food was it was below average and wouldn't order again. The salt and pepper squid was too salty, the egg fried rice had lumps of plain rice in it. The Sesame prawn toast was greasy and soggy. The chow mein meat was flavourless but did include lots of veg which was nice. Overall, it was just edible and wouldnt order again and definitely gutted I spent so much.”

“The food is usually great - however the service is awful. 2 hours 30 minutes for a £30 order. Rang and all you get is the driver has left with your order. Hire more delivery drivers!! Over two hours is acceptable to paying customers. Edit to update.. 3 hours we waited for our food! 2 phone calls later and the food turned up cold. It is unacceptable to treat paying customers that way.. busy or not, don’t take orders if you can’t facilitate them in a timely manner. We’ve been long time customers and this has happened before.. but with a 1.5/2 hour wait, we won’t be returning. We placed our order at 6.26pm - it arrived at 9pm!! If you were in a restaurant, you’d never accept sitting a waiting for you meal for 3 hours and accept a blunt ‘sorry’ after spending money on a weekend treat. You operate as a take away, have the means to provide the service efficiently !!”
