  “The burger and bun were unfortunately well overcooked, and the burger was served on a saucer, with chips being an additional charge. Overall, I felt the meal was quite expensive, particularly when compared with the menus, value and quality of food available at other local establishments. I have heard very positive feedback from others who have enjoyed an evening meal here, so perhaps this was simply an off occasion. However, based on my own experience, I would now be a little reluctant to return, as I would be concerned about being disappointed again.”

  “Sadly we will not be returning. After being recommended the roast here by several people we thought we would try, however I can safely say this is the worst roast I have ever eaten anywhere in Devon & Cornwall. To start, the environment was completely filthy. We were sat in the conservatory and before I could even sit down I had to clean my own chair as it was covered in dust and chunks of food. Our drinks were served with straws that had thick green filth on them. We ordered a pork roast and a mixed roast - at no point were we made aware that these would be served together on the same plate, yet they were. If I had wanted beef on my food I would have ordered a beef roast - maybe think of your customers before making such strange choices. On top of this, every single element of the roast (meat, veg, potatoes & Yorkshire puddings) were covered in mustard, and even that couldn’t add flavour to the poorly prepared food. Again, there was no warning that mustard would be on the food. The meat was 90% fat (beef, gammon & pork) so much so that we actually thought we had been served fried onions, turned out to just be soggy fat. I’ve never experienced ‘chefs gravy’ that was mainly oil and completely lacked flavour until eating here. The potatoes were so stale they were difficult to cut into, and had a sharp bitterness to them that you only taste when the potatoes themselves are off. We were pointed to our table and not at any point were we asked if things were ok, not even when we paid. Honestly, I can’t imagine this just being an ‘off’ day, although I hope it was. But as I have already said, we will never return and will ensure that everyone knows how bad our experience was.”

  “Visited The Old Rydon inn on Sunday as we are on holiday in the area and had their Sunday roast. Can only say it was a fantastic experience. Pub made up of many different rooms and beer gardens. We ate in the barn and what a great experience. Service excellent, food first class and great value for money. Will definitely be back again !”

  “We had such a lovely experience at the pub. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! Our waitress was Alexis and she was very attentive and made sure we had everything throughout our meal. She always had a smile on her face. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this pub.”

  “We had a lovely Sunday roast at The Old Rydon. I was told the portion sizes were big, but wow, there was no way we could finish our meal! The food was absolutely lovely and the staff were all very friendly. Alan was especially welcoming — a real gem of a place, and we’ll definitely be back.”

  “The Old Rydon Inn in Kingsteignton is the kind of place that feels like a proper local whilst managing to establish itself as a gastro-pub. It’s a 15th-century thatched building has got all the classic character, low ceilings, wonky walls, and a big fireplace. While it’s officially a gastro-pub, it doesn't try too hard. You can go in for a fancy three-course meal, but it’s just as easy to settle in for a Sunday roast and a few pints. Think fresh, local Devon ingredients turned into dishes that actually taste as good as they look on the plate. The Walled Garden - Their outdoor space is a bit of a hidden gem. It's tucked away, full of greenery, and is easily one of the best spots in the area for a drink in the sun. It’s cozy and relaxed. It has that "old-world" Devon feel, whether you’re sitting by the fire or out on the patio. It’s basically the gold standard for a village pub: great history, a friendly team, and food that makes it worth the drive.”

  “Delicious pizza and thai curry. If the amount of rice wil curry can be a bit more, it will be better portion. The curry sauce was nice. The soup was so so. Overall recommened. Will come again to try other dishes.”

  “Went on a very busy Sunday. Service was brilliant considering how many people were there. Food delicious and lovely cosy place to eat. The carpark was completely full when we arrived to plan ahead to park elsewhere.”

  “This is a lovely traditional English pub in Kingsteignton with low ceilings and cosy comfortable areas to sit. It has a large under cover outdoor eating area and garden. The service on the day we visited for lunch was great. The young staff were chatty, helpful and made us feel very welcome. We ordered the Mezze platter for 2 and that was a mistake. There were several homemade dips that were bland and of a very thin consistency and the squid was not pleasant ( We think the oil probably needed changing). There was plenty of bread and butter to eat the dips with and our lovely waitress did bring us more bread! Would we return...yes definatly for a drink, but not to eat.”
