Customer Review Summary
The complaints centre on service and food quality. One carvery diner found the meat not especially flavoursome and waited more than 35 minutes for an apple crumble after asking three times. Another reports plates cleared after about an hour with no offer of drinks or the dessert menu on a quiet Saturday evening. One lunch diner describes a flat cider, brown salad and a ham that tasted funny. A reviewer who hosted a Celebration of Life closes on staff who moved tables and helped set up their audio visual equipment.

“First impressions I was stood at the bar waiting to be served, lots of staff standing around chatting. Was eventually served - cider was flat. Lunch was awful. I had a ham salad, ham tasted funny, salad brown and not fresh, my Mum had a prawn sandwich which was described on the menu as a "bloomer" what arrived was the thinnest cheapest wholemeal bread that looks like it's from Lidls. Again salad brown and nasty. My son had chicken nuggets and chips no complaints there! No staff came outside to see how I meal was. We ended up leaving alot and won't be returning. £62 for that is disgraceful!”

“We were in the area for a short break and decided to try this pub, we visited for the brunch and then again for dinner. Both were very tasty and the staff were friendly, particularly the young girl who served us dinner. The food was tasty and the portions were generous and very reasonably priced. There was plenty of onsite parking and seating both in the pub and out on the terrace.”

“Had a carvery at the Ten Tors Inn in Kingsteignton and it was excellent. The food was great, with generous portions and plenty of choice. The staff were friendly, efficient, and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. Service was quick and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. We will definitely be returning and would happily recommend it to others looking for a good carvery.”

“Amazing staff! Greeted as we entered throughout out visit Abby couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, a real credit to the team. We’ve been meaning to make the drive from Exeter for a while and we wasn’t disappointed today when we did. Outstanding selection with their carvery, don’t think I’ve ever seen so many items on offer. They food was lovely, would definitely return when in the area. We arrived about 3pm on a sunny Sunday without a reservation and we were seated immediately. Well worth a try.”

“My friend had her birthday meal here (27/06/26), and it was such a lovely experience :) I had the veggie fish and chips, which was stunning. The beer battered halloumi was incredible. In terms of the shape and batter, it looked so similar to a classic fish and chips, giving that traditional pub food vibe. The batter really complimented the taste and texture of the halloumi, and I thought the portion size was ideal. The peas were also well seasoned (specifically, minted) which was delicious, refreshing, and a great addition to the dish's flavour. (I really loved the range of good vegetarian options on the menu! They were well priced and didn't feel like an afterthought to the meat/ fish meals at all, which was really lovely.) In short: the food was definitely worth the (very reasonable - around £17 from memory!) price, and I'd love to visit again! Additionally, the service was fab. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and helpful, creating a lovely atmosphere in the venue. (We were served mostly by Lily and Scarlet, who were great! Super kind, helpful, and welcoming.) Ten Tors' outside area has a great atmosphere and the sofa is *so* comfy, making it a great place to sit and chat! I visited with 6 others, including a baby, and the venue comfortably accommodated us all.”
