Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers come for the food, calling it the best Indian meal they have had, with curries cooked perfectly, no dry meat, and massive portions. Diners also praise the huge menu, friendly staff who were helpful with allergens, and a spotless dining room. A few note tables set close together and several requests for water going unanswered. One delivery of eight mains with naan, rice and poppadoms arrived on time, hot and correct. Delivery draws the sharpest complaints, though. Two reviewers describe waits of over two hours, and one says the food arrived cold after four hours, greasy and sweet, with paneer in a glowing red curry they suspect contained colorants. Another reviewer, from Punjab, found the Punjabi butter chicken inauthentic. In both delivery accounts the restaurant marked the order as delivered, and one reviewer says the manager later confirmed it never arrived, while the delivery app kept refusing a refund.

“Amazing food, service could be better and place feels a bit crowed. Honestly though, i don’t mind that i had several requests for a glass of water ignored/forgotten about, it’s worth it when this food is the best Indian food i have ever had. Portions are also massive.”

“Will happily take your money but not deliver any food! We waited over two hours for a delivery less than 10 minutes away, despite providing a map pin, What3Words, and our live location. The driver ignored all instructions, and to make matters worse, the restaurant falsely marked the food as "delivered." This led to Just Eat repeatedly refusing a refund based on the restaurant's false claims. When we visited in person to resolve the matter, the manager verbally confirmed that the food was never actually delivered. Despite this admission, they refused to help us resolve the issue with Just Eat there and then, claiming they would call Just Eat themselves. They didn't - Just Eat later confirmed no such call was made. It took numerous, stressful attempts to get Just Eat to take our claim seriously. Just Eat eventually refunded us, but only after significant persistence on our part. After looking through other reviews, it’s clear we aren't the only ones to have experienced this! Unreliable and dishonest - avoid this place at all costs.”

“I ordered Punjabi Butter chicken and the thing is i am from Punjab and i know how it should taste. I don't know why you all are making fool of people by naming ur restaurants as Indian restaurants and appointing chefs from Bangladesh. At least teach them how to make authentic Indian food or at least have guts to name ur restaurant as a Bangladesh name... In all over Newport u all are having chefs from Bangladesh that sell food on the name of India. Be proud what u are.”

“Ordered a delivery of eight (all different) main meals with a mixture of naan breads, rice and poppadoms for a family get together. The whole order was delivered on time, well packaged, hot and correct. The food quality matched the service delivery - which was excellent. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful curry house near to our home. Cant wait for another reason to come and eat in the restaurant.”
