Customer Review Summary

Curries draw the most praise, with the chicken moghli masala called off the charts, and a lamb biriani, madras sauce and keema naan described as exceptional. Others single out the chicken tikka masala with naan, the chicken kufti starter and a king prawn puri, and one reviewer liked the bottled Kingfisher. One diner calls the portions big and delicious, while another found them very small and the food average. Service splits. Several describe friendly, fast staff, and one praises how a table swearing at staff was dealt with professionally. Others report disinterested waiters, or waiters who were slightly rude and abrupt on a busy night. Reviewers also mention a small, hectic room, one group's loud shouting that staff did not address, and a smoky dining area from the barbecue-style dishes. One reviewer suggests booking ahead. One reviewer reports seeing staff refill used chutney bowls without clean spoons, and the restaurant responded with an apology and 25% off a future visit.

“Food was very average and the portions were very small. The waiters were not very smart with various different items of clothing from polo shirts, trainers and cotton shirts; the latter half tucked in and out. The waiter seemed disinterested and not very attentive. Service is very important in the restaurant game and I feel that the staff require some training in this area. There were also a group of girls/ladies who had finished there meal which was fine however- the noise , laughing and shouting was so loud that my wife and I couldn’t here a word spoken to each other throughout the entire meal; staff said or did nothing.”

“During our visit to this restaurant, we unfortunately witnessed staff on several occasions topping up chutneys and dips using bowls that had already been on other customers’ tables. These bowls were taken back, refilled, and then reused without replacement spoons or any visible proper cleaning. From what we observed, the containers appeared to be quickly wiped around the edges before being topped up and returned to service. Customers may have used the same spoons that had been in their mouths, double-dipped, or otherwise contaminated the contents. In contacting the restaurant they did apologise, said they would review their procedures, and offered 25% off a future visit. However, given what we witnessed, it’s needless to say we won’t be returning.”

“Went here last night only booked our table on the day so was lucky to get a table. Been here many times as always the food is good but the service definitely lacked last night to the point the waiters were slightly rude anda bit abrupt.. I'm aware it was very busy but there was no need for the service from the waiters.”

“First visit here. The food was great, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was lively. I didn’t expect that for a Sunday evening. I must commend the staff and management here, because there was a very rude and unruly table that was swearing at staff members and they were very professionally dealt with and escorted out. No one in hospitality should have to put up with that kind of behaviour and the fact that the whole restaurant applauded afterward the table was chucked out should tell you the nonsense this lovely restaurant had to put up with this evening. Please keep doing what you are doing. We will be back soon ❤️”

“Wow. My old school-mate recommended this place and so I gave it a try. Without doubt, I've just eaten the best lamb Biriani, madras sauce and keema naan EVER. Absolutely exceptional. I honestly can't rate this enough. If you know your food and especially a good BIR restaurant meal, this place is for you. Well done guys.”
