Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the curries, with the Massaman (including a vegetable version) and the roast duck curry named repeatedly as excellent, and the beef penang curry also recommended. Close behind are the starters and soups: the Tom Yum and Tom Kha with mushrooms, plus duck pancakes, sui mai, chili squid and prawn toast. The platter for two and the chicken pad Thai also draw mentions, and one diner singles out the sticky toffee pudding. Several describe freshly cooked, flavoursome dishes in huge portions, with friendly staff and a lovely themed setting. Cocktails, wine and Lucky Buddha beer get a nod, and one reviewer praises the happy hour fixed price menu. The few caveats are small. One kitchen was short a chef and warned diners of a possible delay, though food still arrived in a timely manner, and a table by the door was very cold. One diner asked for a salad like Nam Tok, and the chef made one specially, with sliced sirloin.

“Popped in midweek during happy hour. The fixed price menu had a good selection, the full menu was very comprehensive. We all had different dishes and there was none left, food all excellent. It was very quiet early midweek, so great for catching up with friends.”

“Oh boy! If you love Thai food you’ll love Nandon Thai. We can honestly say this is the best Thai food that we have ever had, and we’ve had some great food previously. Staff were super friendly, nice restaurant and the food and wine reasonably priced. The Roast duck curry was excellent, Vegetable Massamon curry was superb as was the platter for 2. I’m not a fan of prawn toast, but I ate this! Highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Chose this restaurant because partner abhors coconut milk and they serve a milk-less curry. Got sat straight away. Lovely chap, can’t remember his name. Anyway, had the Tom Yum soup (delicious), Sui mai, chili squid. All great. But I must mention, upon ordering mains, I enquired if the salad was like Nam Tok (my favourite Thai salad). I was told it wasn’t but I ordered it anyway with sliced steak. When it was served the waiter said ‘The chef made Nam Tok especially for you’. I was bowled over. AND it was one of the most gorgeous Nam Toks I ever had. I relished every bite. They really must add it to the menu. Spicy, herby, and the sirloin was sooo good. We will definitely return. Thanks all!”

“I’d never had Thai food before, but this place absolutely did not disappoint. From the starters to the mains, everything was outstanding. The Lucky Buddha beer was a great touch and really complemented the meal. The restaurant has a lovely themed atmosphere, the staff are super friendly, and the service is lightning fast. You can really taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients in every dish, with flavours that truly stand out. A fantastic experience from start to finish—I’ll definitely be back.”
