Customer Review Summary

Diners consistently single out the atmospheric old railway carriage setting as the standout draw, with many describing the entrance through the carriage as pure theatre. The food earns repeated praise for its fresh preparation and bold flavors, with the tikka salon and chickpea dish named as highlights, while the pickle tray and lemon rice are also frequently commended. Service is repeatedly called friendly and efficient, even during busy periods. Several note the fair pricing and generous portions, though one reviewer points to the high cost of a pint of soda and lime. The Orange Sorbet is a recurring dessert recommendation.

Great freshly-prepared Indian food at fair prices, and friendly service in an atmospheric old railway carriage. What more could you ask for? Recommended!

In Newcastle for the evening and came here for a dinner. Lovely dinner and great service. Also nice timber struts holding up the ceiling if that’s your cup of tea!

Entering through the train carriage is pure theatre, and it only gets better from there. Examplary, friendly service from Ash and his team. Fantastically tasty food - the tikka salon might have ousted garlic chilli chicken as my go-to curry. And fantastic value for money, with two starters, two mains, mushroom rice, peshwari naan, and two beers coming in at £50 on a Saturday night. Sensational.

Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
