  “Love this place, I have been to a few Akbars restaurants across the country if there is one close by on my travels I dont look at any other options. The food from starters to main courses, 10 out of 10, fresh tender meat, full of flavour and the curry is the way I had it a home growing up in a south Asian household. Cant wait till the next time I visit.”

  “Yesterday we went for our dad's birthday. The service was outclass . The personalized touch they gave to my dad's birthday was spot on. Food was delicious . Cant complain . They used to be my favt place when were in town centre. Can say now "Akbars is back in toon"”

  “Travelled from Northern Ireland to visit family in Newcastle and was recommended Akbar's Restaurant. TLDR - Excellent food, service and value. I was apprehensive beforehand as, in reality, NI does not have many sit in and proper table service Asian curry restaurants outside of Belfast or Derry/Londonderry , only online takeaway businesses. Great location on main road with ample parking, the premises are impressive and give a good first impression. This continues once inside when the friendly staff greet you and guide you to your table. I was with my two daughters and five year old grand daughter who felt comfortable and at ease in a friendly atmosphere with pleasant background music. Once seated, we were presented with menus and left in peace to make our choices with no hurry or urgency. A mix of dishes were ordered as we were not familiar with Indian/Pakistani/ East Asian food and so decided on a taster type of menu. Every dish was tasty and succulent, cooked with mild/medium spice as requested. The hanging naan bread was perfect for everyone to share as well. A really big thank you must go to Ali, our host for the evening. Warm and welcoming, he left us in peace to order at our leisure and subsequently delivered impeccable service thereafter. The real engine room of any restaurant must be thanked in this review. You make excellent food in a hot, time pressured environment, well done everyone. Thanks to all of your staff for good food, service and value.”

  “Amazing food, we all ordered different curries to mix and match with one HUGE naan. Went home with some leftovers each. The food is amazing, but I think the service is what really makes this place stand out. Every single staff member was lovely and the service was top tier, even when it was busy. I'll be recommending Akbar's to everyone I know, easily one of my top 5 restaurants.”
