About Woburn Coffee House
Woburn Coffee House is a restaurant at 21 Market Pl in Milton Keynes, open since the summer of 2012 and centred on afternoon tea. The kitchen serves a classic afternoon tea and a vegan afternoon tea on tiered stands, with sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam, and cakes and pastries. Cheese scones are offered alongside. The menu changes with the seasons, and that includes a Christmas themed afternoon tea. The house also hosts weddings, so couples planning a small private celebration can hold it in the same place where the teas are served. Reservations are required. Seating includes the orangery.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for the afternoon tea, and the five tier stand of sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam, and delicate cakes is what they describe most. Close behind are the staff, called friendly, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive, and the setting, described as beautiful and warm. Diners mention the vegan afternoon tea, a Christmas themed tea served in the orangery, and seasonal menu changes. Several also praise the venue for weddings. One reviewer who needed dietary accommodations says the request was repeated back when the food arrived. The main complaint is value and detail. One reviewer found the price a little high and wished the tea and coffee were refillable, noting the tea was not loose leaf. Another was promised a five tier stand but received three tiers, and a paid deposit was not deducted from the final bill until a week later. Several reviewers close their visits by taking leftover cakes home in a box.

“We recently got married at Woburn Coffee House having been there for afternoon tea a couple times before. The entire planning process was expertly guided by the team and they were very responsive throughout. On the day, the venue was beautifully decorated and everything ran so smoothly. The entire team including (but not limited to) Ian, Emma, Karen, the chefs and the waitressing team were absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to deliver the best day. We’ve had lots of compliments from guests on how stunning the venue was, how well everything ran, and how incredible the food was. I cannot recommend Woburn Coffee House enough for their afternoon teas and especially for their weddings.”

“I recently visited this lovely coffee house for an English afternoon tea, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, cosy, and beautifully decorated, making it the perfect place. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented with a delicious selection of freshly made sandwiches, warm scones served with clotted cream and jam, and an assortment of delicate cakes and pastries. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared with great care. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive.Special mention to Molly who looked after us. We really felt special and well looked after. Overall, this coffee house offers a delightful traditional English afternoon tea in a charming setting. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing treat or a special afternoon with family or friends. I will definitely be returning.”

“Overall had a great experience, and it was a fantastic birthday treat. Beautiful location and a real attention to detail by the staff and kitchen. Particularly happy, as it was a bit pricey but you felt like you got your money's worth, which you don't often find these days! Would 100% go back for any special occasion. Came with my mum for her birthday and had such a great time. Staff were very attentive while not being overbearing. When spending a lot, you do not want to be rushed, but there was always someone nearby if we needed help or had a request. Was incredibly hot and wanted an iced coffee, which our waitress very kindly said she could make, even though it is not usually offered with the afternoon tea. We were given a card on behalf of the coffee house for my mum's birthday, which was beautiful and such a kind gesture. Additional cheese scones were given on our sitting, which was again a lovely surprise and showed real care from the team. Really fantastic with our dietary requirements, very easy to communicate our requests and when handed our food the request was repeated, which always helps alleviate anyone's fear that the kitchen forgot. The waitress kindly offered to take a picture of us after serving our platter. When entering, we were told clear information on the bathrooms and exit which was helpful. Only wish was maybe the tea and coffee being refillable/ unlimited to represent the price better, especially as the tea was not loose leaf (may just be the one we got but that seemed to be the case!).”
