About Crossing Truck Stop
Crossing Truck Stop is a restaurant on a working truck yard in Bedford, at 270 Bedford Rd, and its main customers are truckers and lorry drivers. The yard has parking bays for articulated lorries, including 24-hour parking, so a driver can park the rig and stop for a meal in the same place. Shower cubicles are set aside for drivers as well. The menu includes cooked egg dishes, among them an omelette with ham, cheese and mushrooms, and egg with bacon and bread.

Customer Review Summary
Food draws the most praise at this small truck stop, led by a three egg omelette with ham, cheese and mushrooms that one reviewer counts among the best they have had, served with potatoes roasted on the outside and creamy inside. Others mention a chicken dinner, puddings, and a menu with salad and healthy options rather than only burgers and chips, plus takeaway on everything. Reviewers describe friendly staff, a cleaner site since the new owner, and clean toilets and showers, with big lorries filling the yard giving it a real working feel. Complaints centre on cost and facilities. One reviewer found a plate of egg, a single piece of bacon and two slices of bread steep compared with motorway services, and another called the parking and coin-token shower the most expensive truck stop they had come across. A reviewer says the parking bays are too small for articulated trucks, and another noted the shower cubicles were still shut at seven in the morning, just when drivers want to leave the yard.

“The parking bays are extremely small and unsuitable for articulated trucks. Somebody reversed into me and security was very unhelpful also he refused to show me the cameras.”

“This is a tiny real truckstop. With absolutely fabulous filling food. Not fancy but everything is magnificent. I ordered a three egg omelette because I told them I was very hungry and I didn’t want a two egg omelette and they said we usually make four egg omelettes and I had one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had with ham and cheese and mushrooms. The potatoes are roasted roasted on the outside creamy on the inside and peas and peas cup of coffee and water and a slice of shortbread. It’s raining outside but so I’m just taking my time in here. The people are really wonderful and friendly and you’re seeing a whole different class of society Meall truckers with yellow vests. It’s really a slice of real life big Long trucks my motorcycle is the only thing out there that isn’t a big Long truck. I love this display.”

“Most EXPENSIVE truck stop I ever come across, 60 quid (£50 with snap) for 24hrs parking for just 7 minutes shower time with coin token. And NO food discounts coupon as well as Inclined parked was horrible, can't had proper slept. Beware before you park.”
